Running Duo is actually dumb.

I started thinking about this from a common sense standpoint. Like post nut clarity. Of our starting 5 OL, how would you rate them? For me its Francis, Cooper, Bell, McCoy/Samson, then Brack. That means 2 of the best players on the OL are the tackles. Yet we are insistent on going inside almost exclusively. You can have your philosophy, if you had 2 top 2 round guards and a draftable center. But we dont, Brack keeps getting abused by 1 DT. Our strength is the tackles, these 2 man are like 700 pounds combined. Use them to maul smaller DEs and LB. If we continue with this, we are gonna lose atleast 1 more game. Milking the clock at home for no **** reason. We can create big plays of we run outside. We are not winning if we continue the inside run and we are not winning if Beck needs to be throwing all over the field 35 times with the run stuffed and it's 3rd and long.

Another point from a common sense standpoint is our RBs are dying to get into space even Fletcher. We supposed to be wearing down the D but what about wearing down Mark and Brown? What about going against what most ofnyour backs do well. We see them in space on swing passes.

I know one of you kweefing pum pum gonna let me know everyone has made a post about this and blah blah blah.

Mario Cristobal knows what he is doing, this is not a talent deficiency issue, this a hard headed approach and the last time i saw it was sitting in the stands on a Friday or thursday, whatever day it was in 2023 and watch us lose a game that was already over.

I been said this is the year i judge the product. And if he wastes our season by being dumb im not defending that $heet. Ima assume its his way and we have reach the pinnacle of where he taking us. 2 losses that never should happen. Open the running game, the offense gets open. Simple..

If we run duo so much, what good does it do to have wrs go in motion and help block the edges?

If your 5 are TRULY developed (Mirabel), go 4 wide and spread defense out. Guess what, you won’t have 3 to block 6 anymore.

Truly think Mirabel schemes run game to minimize his OL responsibility and give THEM help by having WRS and TES staying in to block.

And that will come back to bite us against other teams.

Dawson is being handcuffed by Mirabel and soon he’s going to be scapegoated for Mirabel.

Mario and Mirabel = Golden and Dno.

We don't dictate spacing well, but its our unwillingness to change the play when confronted with obvious numbers issues that is mind numbing.

With how we are defended, Beck/Fletcher's experience, and Toney's intuition, we should never call a straight run play.

They should all be RPOs or have options based on spacing and numbers.

I love how people who don’t know **** assume that line coach is making decisions on run play calls based off of some random post somebody made one time.
You guys make up narratives in your head and run with it

Last year Cam called audibles. This year Beck doesn’t appear to have that freedom.

Can you imagine how effective it would be to go to a 4 WR set, wide receivers out as wide as they can be, and then run your inside zone that youre obsessed with?

Type of formation where if you make one guy miss, youre breaking a run for 20 yards easy.

Its just common sense. But, we wont get that with this squad. So as I said after the UL loss, dont expect that to change. It wont. Mario wants more helmets and just require that 7/8 of our guys each win their battle so we can grind out 4-5 yards.

The bottom line is Lofton doesn't do **** so replace with a 4th WR and we're cooking with Crisco

We are all entitled to our own opinion, but name me one Air Raid disciple who treats his WRs as blocking pieces in the run game?

Air raid coaches build their system off spacing, tempo and all the duos we call subtly shifts offense from spacing to leverage and it gives defense an easier time to diagnose potential play calls presnap.

Fwiw, most air raid coaches only use a handful of run plays but can run them out of different formations to create different looks that are intended to complement our passing game.

Unequivocally our run game scheme does not complement our passing game. They look worlds different.

Bump, this is why I made this thread. Am officially done with Mario. I gave him the time I said i would. He is Al Golden with more resources. Golden refused to fire No D, Mario decided beating your head against a brick wall is how to run the ball and spicy Dawson got mad when asked about it. All the haters were right. I said give him till Bain class were juniors. Kelly and Napier fired from tougher conferences, while being hired same time.

He aint getn fired so am not even gonna waste my breath. He deserves to be.
