With Evidence Njoku's departure we now stand at 75 overall scholarship players. This includes the four walk-ons granted scholarships.

Njoku entering the portal now brings the total to 34 players who have left the team following last season.

We'll have a minimum of 14 players leaving at the conclusion of this season due to expiration of eligibility. That, coupled with current roster space will give us at least 24 scholarships to fill in 2020.

If we keep trending up and end the regular season with two W’s plus add in more talent in the coming class, Manny will have the horses. Just win baby!

Last I heard we had 22 commits for 2020. Depending on quality, we might be headed in the right direction.

Go look at Bama roster they got 7 QBs 9 RBs 19 wrs , 10 TEs, , 15 OL ,14 DL, 19 LBS, 21 DBs, 3 kickers, 3 punters, 3 LSers. How you get 114 players on a team? Almost 30 walk ons or what? I just looked to see what kind of numbers they had. It’s espn roster of them.
we really need to up our numbers I guess...

It makes me wonder...does booster money create a shadow roster for Alabama? Do guys who "walk-on" get benefits to attend Alabama, so as to turn down the scholarships that they could likely get at many other schools in the country?

Who we crying about the most? Very pedestrian list when the early draft named are removed...

Unfortunately we won't get close to 85 because of class caps. I just want to be above 80 not including the walk ons to start the season. But some kids will leave early, the QB room is in flux, the OL room is equally in flux, McCloud and Patchan only stay if they expect to start or at least play a lot. We always have at least a handful of transfers, and like last off-season, this off-season will be on the high side.

We have the horses right now though.

The offensive line is young as can be. They have played better but a lot of that is because of the experience they are getting but far from good enough to be where we want to be. I’m hoping next season they take the next step and keep growing as a unit. This O line class is unbelievably important for Manny and Co as we need guys ready for when these young ones leave. That’s how you build a program. We are on the ground floor with Oline and LB.

Richards & malek young are two freak injuries that would definitely be helping this team...

It’s no worse than what other teams are dealing with in terms of the OL. From a national standpoint, yes we aren’t where we are supposed to be but I just don’t believe that for the Coastal. On top of that, how about our coaches actually adjust there, our skill positions are stacked and we could help that OL out with quick strikes to our weapons in space, instead of these 7 step drops? Bottom line is that we should expect some growing pains, but not losing to two sub .500 teams with brand new staffs like us.
