Of all of Rosier's flaws, the one that just baffles me the most is his inability to place the deep ball accurately. The missed throws he had to JT4 and AR82 throughout the year came up again on Saturday night. I was at the game and had a bad angle on the deep ball to Thomas, but after watching the highlights, here we have another example of a TD that should have been but wasn't.

(Sorry, can't imbed specific time -GO TO 16:07)

This was the only deep ball we threw all night. It was the right play call and Thomas had his man beat on the inside. And just as he's done many times this year, Rosier fails to lead the WR to the inside and instead goes back shoulder. It was an incredible catch, but it should have been 7 and 34-31 game. Instead, we failed to convert in the red zone and missed the FG.

We have a lot to improve on next year, but the one area I hope to see the biggest improvement is deep ball placement by whoever is starting at QB - we can't afford to miss easy points like this to two of the most explosive athletes we have.

He cant throw a 10 yard slant accurately more than 50% of the time....sure as **** cant throw deep ball accurately. Did you the stat they put up for mayfield before the game......on balls 15+ yards he is 55% completion. Our Qb cant do that and he throws 25% swing/wr screen passes

Forget about the deep balls, how many times did we have a WR open within 10 yards and Rosier's throw forced the WR to dive or slide? I don't have any stats or anything but our YAC was probably hot garbage.

The only trait that Rosier brings to the offense is mobility and toughness. He cant go through progressions, hes not accurate short, not accurate deep, and is turnover prone.

I think most of us saw these issues but we kept squeaking out wins until it finally bit us.

I feel like 50% of braxton's catches were diving and had no chance for YAC

I’m just praying Richt doesn’t play around with this competition and names a starter in the spring.

You don't have to worry about that. We WILL know by the Spring. Richt is gonna wanna give Malik every opportunity to transfer and play right away next season so he either keeps his job or he doesn't in the Spring. If there is a battle in the Fall it will be between Perry and JArren.

Against Wisconsin, Other than the deep ball to Cager (broken play & wideopen). I don’t think Rosier gave the WRs any opportunities for YAC. Every completion the WRs seem to be diving to make the catch.

This is why I have always believed accuracy and timing are more important than arm strength. A guy with smarts, timing, and accuracy will get the ball to players in stride. The number of throws they CAN make will outnumber those they can't. On the flip side, a strong armed guy that can make all the throws, but doesn't half the time, is much more of a liability.

Rosier made some awful reads against Wisconsin you can't see on the tape. I counted 4 times during the game he threw to a covered check down when a WR was WIDE open 15+ yards down the field. The post was wide open almost the entire game. He continues to have no rhythm and rush throws even when there's no real pressure.

The deep ball to Thomas was ok but still under thrown. I think that ball had as much to do with lack of arm strength than it does inaccuracy. I doubt Harley would've caught the deep ball when the PI was called. It wasn't Harley's fault, it was thrown to the wrong shoulder.

Anyone who's ever seen Kaaya and Rosier throw side by side knows that Kaaya had significantly better arm strength than Rosier. Kaaya only had above average arm strength. Rosier throws that ball hard because he has to do so. His arm isn't strong enough to have touch. His arm strength is below average for a power 5 QB. He outplayed his ability at times this season. You can't make someone more talented than they are. Rosier's hit his ceiling. It's time to move on.

Exactly. He has hit his ceiling and teams now know what that ceiling is, and can game plan against it. Time to move on.
