I agree with this. What's interesting, however, is that everything we heard was that if Norton returned then RJ would have returned. If we assume that, then Willis and RJ clearly would have started. I think both would have benefited from spending time alongside Willis, but Norton probably would have seen his PT impacted more. He still should have had someone with a brain telling him that less time would have still been a net positive to spend some or most of it alongside such a beast.

some guys just don't have that mentality. It tells you that they don't trust themselves.
 
**** shame those 3 didn't get to play together this season. Still wouldn't have solved for our Offense and ST issues, but the 3 of them rotating would have been very nice to see. And I think Norton would have been the #3, because Willis and McIntosh would have started and feasted.

Here's to hoping that Nesta is that dude next season, because we know what Bethel brings to the table (dependable but nothing special) and Ford has not yet shown me much.
 
makes sense they left seeing how dominant willis has been. We are sitting here not even remembering their impact.

So he was trash with what most consider the best teacher at DL in CFB whos now ay bama, but Jesse would of got him into the 1st round? lol

RJ McIntosh knew he was coming off the bench if he came back bc Willis is on another level.

Norton would’ve started but Tito would’ve pushed his *** for that starting job too.

I didn’t say 1st round pick?? And he definitely wasn’t trash?? Jess Simpson is a better dline Coach than Kul and would’ve made Norton and RJ better DTs if they came back their senior years.

Lol you funny, you so much of a groupie for other schools but act like **** is different at Miami. Players get better from one year to the next....Joe Jackson and Garvin are much better than they were the year before.

U know Willis was 2nd string behind RJ, and u know your father usually doesnt start the better players so I doubt Willis would be playing with the ones.

actually kool is great for pass rushing, i think jess improved them on run defense.

U know Willis was on scout team so he wasn’t on any depth chart and players and coaches were already saying he was the best DT when he was on the scout team.

Garvin and Joe were ballers, guys like that most likely will improve unless u have Dorito coaching them
 
One thing that people need to realize is that 5th year DTs with talent are really, really rare. Willis looked like a man among boys all year, and part of that is because he COULD have been in the NFL two years ago. He stuck around, cleaned up his act, worked hard, and feasted.

i dont care. our dl lost a ton of talent and performed better this year. Our most talented guy JJ was running around like robo cop with one arm. Djack clearly lost a step. Rosseseau was out for year. etc. this guy earned his salary and he recruits.
