RIP Ken Riley

I still can’t believe he’s in... good football player yes. Hall of Famer NO
He was the first QB to throw for 4K in a season, I believe. That was a big deal. Also, that Super Bowl made the NFL what it is today. The stats aren't there after that, but those two feats were landmarks in the game.

Namath's impact on the game, with two knees held together with chewing gum and roofing tacks, was impressive. The fact he played in the league at all with those knees is something else. He meets the "impact on the game" criteria. 65 INTs sure as **** meets the stats criteria.

A lot of HOF voting is based upon charisma, and what team the player played for. Bradshaw is another cat, based upon numbers, that don’t deserve to be in the HOF. Dude completely 51% of his passes w 212 TDs and 210 ints. But he was the QB for a dynasty, although those teams were so loaded, a frog could’ve QB’d them & won. Lynn Swann is another cat that don’t deserve to be in the HOF. If he played for The Chargers, he wouldn’t sniff the HOF, not based upon his numbers. How Drew Pearson is not in, who had better numbers all around w/ the same credentials is mind boggling

AND they played in the exact same era.

Wow i just read up on him! He deserves to be a HOF with stats like that. You dont accidentally pick off 65 passes in the NFL.

Prayers to his family 🙏

My Godfather played in the same secondary with him back in the Gaither Era. I had the pleasure of meeting Mr. Riley when I was a little guy after the Classic(when it was held in Tampa). This was back when he was our head coach. I also remember how highly my mom's older cousins from Lake Wales would speak of him when recalling playing against him in high school during the Jim Crow era. They were underclassmen at Lake Wales Roosevelt when he was a Senior superstar for Bartow Union. It's a sad day for Rattlers everywhere...

RIP to a great FAMU alum. **** goes to show we gettin old for all the ole school heads
I remember watching him play in NFL. I was already no longer young guy. He was a couple years older than me but dang. You expect the players you saw in your youth to die but if hits home when the one your age go. RIP my man, you were a force on the field. Hope you took the last pass to the house.
