RIP Elgin Baylor

One of the ten greatest players of all time! Unquestionably a shining platinum star among the greatest. A Rookie of the Year, an 11-time All Star, a 10-time All-NBA 1st teamer, and a member of the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame. RIP and God-bless Mr. Elgin Baylor! My deepest condolences to the entire Baylor family, especially his wife Elaine and daughter Krystal. Definitely a very sad day!!

RIP, Rabbit. The first African-American hoops superstar out of Washington, DC.

Elgin went to Spingarn HS in the District which was a "Colored school" when he went there in the early to mid-1950s. Sad to say, it was still effectively segregated when it closed in 2013 (59 years after Elgin graduated), despite a number of laws and court rulings striking down that practice.
