If the season continues to spiral downward and we lose our bowl game, I don’t care what changes he makes in the offseason (and for the record he won’t make any) he will be fired if he loses to Florida. That loss, assuming everything between now and then stays the way it’s trending, would be as unacceptable as the Golden loss to Clemson. I don’t care about contracts, extensions, and IPF donations, that loss would mark a point in the program where the AD and the BOT have to decide if they care at all about saving athletics. That loss would dig a hole for football that can only be dug out of by firing a coach. If they didn’t fire him it would make it clear to anyone who cares about Miami athletics that the powers in charge don’t view football as any type of priority.

And the Soffer's will just write a buy out check?

Better call Red McCombs or T Boone to make that happen.

He may be gone in another year but for family reasons. Depends on how thick his wifes skin is. She will be hearing the dissatisfaction with him every where she goes..Miami.is not Athens. Miami fans can be brutal

I highly doubt that Richt ever gets fired. He’s locked in as Miami head coach at least another 5-8 years. Unless he makes the decision to step down on his own.

You had me until you said “I don’t care”. Which means your statements are super emotional (rightfully so). Dude isn’t going anywhere if he can continue to bring funding to the athletic program which non-revenue sports live off of. He’s Miami Son.

This isn't attack on you or what you are saying, but why exactly is he Miami's son? Bc he's alumni?

That didn't seem to matter to him when Miami was looking for HC after Coker. They were so desperate to find a coach while he still had value and Miami was still in the minds of the media and fans as yearly NC contenders. He gave Miami the middle finger then. So when did he become Miami's son?

Was it after he was sh:t canned from UGA and he had limited options and Miami paid him millions? Or after he made a taxable donation to the IPF to essentially give back his son's and wifes salary?

All of what you wrote.

But Richt has stated that he does not look at other jobs. That’s why he stayed at Georgia for so long. So that part you made wouldn’t apply in this case. But I feel you bro. This guy isn’t it right now. But **** do enough to stay for how long he likes.

What makes one think CMR is " Miami's son. " All he is an alum and former Miami player. That's all. Heck, he's been AWAY from South Florida for at least TWENTY-NINE years, coaching and living in the Panhandle and Johnny Rebel Georgia. duh. ****, CMR is more like your quite ordinary Southern Good Ol' Boy and not a " metro " South Florida fellow and all that. hUh. In other words, arguably speaking his loyalty is probably more for FSU and Georgia. dUh. As Wolf once said... You can never go home.

He's not going to get fired for going 0-1, no matter how much you hate the Gators.

You never fire a coach after game 1

He may be on the hot seat if we lose to Florida but he’ll only get fired if we lose to Florida and continue to lose next year

Then he’ll prob be gone after next year

He looked like a beaten man ready to hang it up last night. He’s not built for the level of toxicity he’s about to face. He’s used to hearing rumblings from rednecks with bangs. He’s not prepared for this.

I could see him working something out with UM and stepping down. He was ready to retire after UbaGA booted him. He probably should have.

He needs to pursue his next calling in life, which should be something less stressful that requires less time and thinking on the fly. He should get himself healthy and move on to the next phase of life.

"bangs" guys with bangs, you are so correct. Are they still wearing that swooping bangs hairdo? So funny.

For sure. He had more years as a semenhole then a Cane.
