Helfrich wasn’t a good head coach, but he knows offense. The innovation he could have brought to that side of the ball, with the kind of weapons we have, would have been incredible.
 
Nothing unfortunately as a fan to really do but watch this tragedy play out over the next couple of years.

Im saying if I am The U administration, Jon Richt is gone for an OC that I will force on Mark Richt. I dont believe in giving anyone enough rope to hang themselves, and therefore the players with. Not acceptable. If Im the AD, Richt has until the start of the last game to submit some coaching changes to my office, if not, I will choose them for him. Jedd Fisch is on my list and I would be gauging his interest during the bye week. Also, this hire would be done before the bowl in hopes of keeping some positive momentum going forward.

I would make CMR a Bowden figure head so fast his head would spin. It could be an audition for the next HC in waiting if Richt doesnt want to play ball.

I doubt that. He's having trouble finding an OC job right now. Plus if this Richt thing heads south, Fisch or any other OC would likely be named HC in waiting u til it becomes financially feasible to terminate his contract. No one should get enough rope to hang themselves and therefore the team.

I know, but that doesnt have to matter. I imagine it would be cheaper to force an OC on him than remove him completely. If he doesnt want to be neutered, he will comply.
 
His biggest mistake before the Patke hire was that he made thomas brown and dugans co-offensive coordinators. Now if he ever does realize he needs a true coordinator he would have to demote both of them.
 
Richt’s ethos is loyalty. This can also mean yes men. He (and Manny) didn’t get along with Kul and look what happened. I don’t think Kul respected Richt. He has no choice but to respect Saban. Every one else had prior coaching ties to Richt or to Diaz. Except Rumph. Whom Richt knew from recruiting at Rumph’s high school.

Not really.

Relabel Brown ‘Running Game Coordinator’ and Dugans ‘Passing Game Coordinator’. I’ve seen other schools have an OC and other coaches with similar titles.
