Recruiting kickers

I don't understand how we continuously end up with kickers that don't kick field goals. I watch/listen/attend high school games every week and there seems to be an abundance of kids that can kick field goals from 50 yards or under.

Do we try and recruit at this position?

Well maybe lets not give out schollies to kickers who were 4-16 in high school.

I'd much rather recruit a well qualified athletic director who wants to win. Maybe said AD will get us a qualified head coach. Maybe that qualified head coach will win enough games where recruiting improves at all positions.

yeah we do recruit kickers. McPherson from UF told us to go **** ourselves.

Mental side to kicking is so huge. Baxa has a leg but he's a mess mentally. He shouldn't kick again for us.

we probably put as much effort into recruiting kickers as our AD did on searching for HC last year

You could just work with a few kids on the team that play other positions and one would pan out and be serviceable.....or at least better than Baxa.
