Real Talk: The whole staff could go

Many of us say it starts with Richt but we had a bunch of unqualified guys surround this school under Mark Richt.

I loved the Diaz hire because I knew that he would be a gambler and that fit the Miami style. I’m a believer that if you have a bad defense at least have it be aggressive instead of conservative. Yes our numbers look good but who have we played? We play in arguably the worst power 5 division! We should look good. Would this defense rank as high in the PAC 12 or Big 12? The answer is no and all of us know this.

Alabama has fielded elite defenses that would be elite no matter the conference in recent years. That’s what I think about when I think elite defensive units. Not one like ours that constantly gets gashed!

Each and every coach on this staff can go and we will not be hurting if/when a new regime came in. Let that coach pick his guys and let’s ride. We overrate many coaches for “recruiting” bottom line is win your games! Always has been always will be.

I couldn't agree more. Everyone seems to love fellating Diaz because of the overall stats but this defense makes too many mistakes, gives up too many big plays, and makes too many penalties. They don't make the big stops and make terrible mistakes at the absolute worst time of the game. They are undisciplined and for every great play there's a facepalm moment coming up right behind it.
 
I said it in another thread, any DC running a 4-3 defense here is going to have a near top 25 defense. Diaz isn't exceptional, he is just doing his job and earning his paycheck. In comparison to every other coach on staff (especially the HC) competency makes him look elite.
