Real Question: Why do we beat BC and why do we lose to BC?

With our current QB and OL situation coupled with underperforming LB's and the appearance that ACC OC's have caught on to what Diaz is dialing up, I am legitimately concerned about BC.

They have stud players in key positions, a very good OL, a soul crushing RB, solid D and we're playing at their house.

We're not going to win by jamming the ball down their throats, so we HAVE to get performance out of our passing game.

Also, this is not a game Diaz can blitz us to victory. He's going to have to play chess with these guys.

I bleed O&G so I think we pull it off, but this is a SERIOUS test.

They gave up 34 points to Wake Forest.
People worry about our special teams but they looked worse.

We can lose of course cause they will be pumped to play us as most teams seem to be and they are at home in a night game but I am not concenred about them at the moment.

I am just focused on FIU really.

Only thing that's worrisome is the short week on the road. Hasn't been kind to us recently. I watched their game against WF and they've got players but we have more talent across the board. Their QB is nice though.

They are disciplined and can run the football. Their QB can make enough plays where they are not 1 dimensional. And a home game on a Friday night is going to have them jacked. This is the game I've had circled since the schedule came out. If Richt wants to win me over, dominate FIU, UNC and FSU (all bad teams) at home. Handle business against UVA and go into the bye week 6-1 with some convincing wins. Then take the team on the road in a tough(ish) environment and punch these f*ggots right in the mouth and secure a big road conference win before we come back home to play Duke

We have a bye the week before. We better be well prepared

I agree this is a serious test and opportunity to make a statement to the country that we are better than the LSU game. We have more talent but this game will be won by our front 7. Our LB's have no choice but to show up or we will not win.

And most of us older fans know that you don't have to say tough(ish). You can flat out say tough,
Even our best teams had had some battles up there.

Good lord, there are 4 games on the schedule and a bye week before Miami rolls into Chestnut Hill.

34 pts is what it is but WF was given some pts.

Punt returner for BC could not field a punt giving WF a short field.

Punter had a snap go right through his hands that gave WF the ball inside their own 10.

BC could have easily won this by 21+

They still have to play NC State and Louisville before us. I’ll put in a judgement when they play those two teams that are closer to our talent level than Wake Forest. Right now they have a very sound, high motor defense, a TE that’s good enough to be a late round pick and make a roster, a talented RB, and a very reliable QB. That’s it.

As I said, their Special teams looked worse than ours from what I saw.

You can't just arbitrarily subtract points due to bad special teams play or field position. If that were the case then we really did not lose badly to LSU.

You right. The greatest team in CFB history needed a pick 6 off of a lateral to clinch a game up there in '01. It has never been an easy place for us to play
