For those that don't truly understand what it takes to recruit Big DT'S here is a look inside the what it takes to recruit these massive players.. this is the story of how OSU flipped 2026 NT from UF to OSU. Listen to how the goat college dline coach Larry Johnson talked to this young man over the years giving him both love and hard real talk. Coach Johnson told the young man " I am coming to visit your high school, tomorrow make sure your there" , that is real talk and a lot of these front-runner Dlinemen can't handle being talked that way. Larry Johnson is as old school as they come but he also knows his business.

It pained me to hear how OSU's DC used his connection with Vince Wilfork to land this young buck . An truthfully I could see no lies in this interview. The SEC bias has permeated deep into the heart of even B10 country. Also noticed how in the end it's about building relationships long term with kids in addition to cutting NIL checks.

Miami may not be broke but there's not enough $ to compete with SEC and B1G for the amount of elite players needed in modern CFB.

A true DT bully that can hit the ground running in college while learning on the fly is probably as or more valued than top end QBs. Mario has to find a way to get us in the sweepstakes.
 
i just assumed we cant recruit DT bc Justin Scott and A Jones are scaring off the good recruits
i was told that was the reason after landing francis and samson we couldnt stack so we had to wait until francis was now a draft eligble junior to land someone like cantwell
so i guess we have to hope scott blows up and by the time hes a junior maybe we can get another top 50 DT

maybe you could point the staff towards a couple of those women you hang out with... ;)
 
Schools are spending big on NIL for DT'S. Take Oklahoma State for instance that has landed the commitment of 2026 4* Danny Beale who rumor has it supposedly has a $2MM NIL deal with OKST. Meanwhile in 2024 they reportedly spent in total $2.7MM. These quality players are annually commanding thier weight in salt in today's NIL market.
