Mattyports: Raphael Kirby suffered a "lower extremity injury," per UM, and will not return. (It's his right knee, and it looked serious.)

Don't wish ill on anyone but i have NEVER been a Kirby fan. Slow and uninstinctive. Hope he is ok. Also hope he never sees the field again.

Grace-Young-Owens is a great core for next year. Depending on who sticks we will have great young players backing them up

Sucks for Kirby, but did Young not look REALLY good? Quick first step, good hands and played aggressively.

Not good anyway you cut it. Even though Young looked good, we are very thin at LB, and Young was already banged up to start the season. We cant afford to be losing LBs.

****, what an *******, typical Miami fan. Yes, Young played well in relief but Kirby gives his all and is trying to make a future living jerk.

Defintiely a typical @ss comment. First, that's such a douche thing to say after a kid gets hurt. Second, we are toilet paper thin at LB and any other injuries kill this already bad defense. You need to depth to give guys breaks and to rotate when a guy is having a bad day.....it happens. Kirby has not been spectacular but has been serviceable compared to others in recent years and now (do you REALLY want McCord at MLB?, and i wish no ill will on any Cane players.

Feel bad for Kirby. Hope it's not serious and he's able to return this season. Kid has put in work for us and we need him. I think a lot of his sub-par performance is due to being "the man" this year in our defense(queue jokes). Denzel struggled with it as a junior, but was able to grow into the role. The Dan Morgan's of the world are very rare. A lot of LB's have a hard time going from making plays to making calls and adding the leadership role to their plates. That being said, get well soon #56 .

Go Canes!

Young came in and played well, but if Kirby is out for any significant amount of time, it only hurts our depth in a position that's already thin.
