Before the 2018 season kicks off tonight, here's a quick look at stat trends, whether negative or positive.

These are all vs P-5 only.

Offense

Increasing number of Sacks allowed
2015 - 16
2016 - 18
2017 - 27

Slightly Increasing number of Rushing Yards (Per Game)
2015 - 99.2
2016 - 126.56
2017 - 128.2

3rd Down Conversion is getting worse
2015 - 37.5%
2016 - 31.93%
2017 - 28.57%
Miami, Alabama, and FAU are the only schools ranked outside of the top 35 in this category (against all teams not just P5) and still have over 9 wins.
Even then, Bama had the best 4th down conversion rate in the nation, with double our attempts.

2017 - 24.4

Hope to look back at the end of the season and see improvement in all of these areas. Or #6

The new fair catch rule on kickoffs make me feel better about our special team situation...unless Richt overthinks it and starts kicking it short and giving teams field position at the 35 instead of just making them start at the 25.
