Ok some Im watching some Florida games from last year. (Bored and hyped for the season.) thought I’d share some thoughts on different things I noticed from the game. Things that both UF and the Opponents did well.

Things UK did well
1. Benny Snell, what a **** of a game, 175 yards on the ground, getting consistent YAC.

2. QB: Kentucky had a QB that could move with his feet. That man ran for countless first downs. He really opened things up with his quickness in play action as well. Florida had this kid dead to rights several times and he pulled Houdini moves all night for countless first downs. (He even ran for a 24 yard TD). Honestly While all the credit and hype went to Snell, Kentucky loses this game without the first downs this kid picked up. 10 rushes, 105 yards and a TD. Solid day.

3. WRs
Kentucky did not throw the ball much but when they did the receiver always made guys miss and picked up extra yards.

Things of Note:
1. Kentucky OL got great push when it counted.
2. Two UF turnovers one that was a touchdown to finish the game.

3. Field Position for Florida was trash all game to be real. Shout out to Kentucky Special Teams.

4. CJ Henderson’s closing speed is crazy. Kid broke up two would be long gains or even touchdowns. Hawked Benny Snell on a touchdown saving run. And got a interception. Real curious to see which WR they stick him on. That’s going to be a war to watch. Overall a great individual day for him.

5. Well **** is this dude Franks accuracy that bad? You can see the talent with the kid but it felt wasted in this game. He also loved to set his WRs up. Them dudes rarely were in position to get YAC. It felt like every single completed or incomplete pass somebody was in position to get seriously hurt. You can do that against UK. You can’t do that against this Miami defense or there will be some fumbles forced and some of those poor kids actually will get hurt with killers Miami has on D.

6. Lots of pass deflections from Franks passes. UK had 6 PD this game. Probably also has to do with the accuracy issues.

7. That Florida OL from 2018 really did give that kid hella time in the pocket. Good to hear those kids aren’t there anymore Miami DL should feasts.

Things Miami has to look for.

1. Mullen with the trick plays for easy scores*
We have to watch for trick plays like Florida’s first TD. Mullen had Nick Fitzgerald balling out with trick plays and lots of confusion on defense.

2. Quick Pass game. Seems like Florida rarely attempted to pass down the field. There were at least 10 pass attempts that were not in front of the chains.

3. Feleipe Franks is athletic enough to pickup first downs with his feet (albeit a bit slow and clumsy)

Overall:

I can see our game play out similar to this one.

Did you happen to notice that they have the same officiating crew for almost every game?
This is my concern.
That’s an sec officiating crew. Their won’t be an sec crew for our game. Will be a crew from one of the other power 5 conferences. No need to worry my friend.

Excellent write up!!
1) Team discipline on defense will slow them down quite a bit.
2) Quick diagnosis and some stay at home play by our db's should cure that quick pass.
3) Gang tackle, 1st man grab a leg and rest need to lean on him.

What about Tony? That's really their only playmaker on offense and the only player I see as a threat to our defense.

I don't see UK bringing the heat and multiple looks we are about to throw at Franks. Mullen will turn Franks into a runner this game and have him get the ball out quick to the boundaries on screens. There won't be enough time for anything else.

Not things that we can't overcome, but definitely things that can counter our aggressive style

First, thanks for posting. I didn't intend to watch the whole thing but I couldn't let it go as I observed something about F Franks. Here are my takeaways:
  • Franks is wildly inaccurate especially to the left side of the field.
  • He completed most of his passes to the right side and while he looks more comfortable going right he not a good passer.
  • He had only three completions to the left side but that is where he threw the interception as well as two batted balls.
  • He lacks confidence making reads from left to right and does not let the play develop.
Please feel free to pick apart my observations. If I was defending the Gators I'd first takeaway the right side of the field, force him the play left and feast on the turnovers.
