I doubt he would fit with this coaching staff, but this is one guy I wish UM could find a place for.
I seem to recall some financial issues with administration when coaches were fired in 2005, but is thagt what keeps him off limits?
He is close to 70, but looks like a beast 20 years younger. Still has fire and knows what made the canes.

Is he an untouchable like people say Butch is?

UM was trying to renig on some payments to Solly and Kehoe and they sued UM to get the money they were owed.

I don't think he is untouchable.
He has been around the program and even spoke to the team.
I think he has simply not been offered a job by this regime or the previous one.
Why?....my guess....and it's just my guess...it's because they are loser regimes.

Dude to gangsta for this staff.....Ice,Scott,Hurlie,& Kehoe are the only coach's on staff who would get my up most respect....

Coley seems like a players coach & you always need on staff

I do like Caroll but Al,Franklin,NoD & Paul.....not so much....them dudes teach bad techniques & our head man is to

Stubborn to make changes for the betterment of the Program & thinks it's only one way his way to skin a cat.....

I saw him at the Beaux Art Festival yesterday and introduced myself. What a great personality and passion for the program. Lived his wholeHe told me about the talks he'd had with the team and it was obvious how much he still cares about the program. He told me how hard he worked the backs, but that they eventually were pushing each other even harder.
told me that Edge was so upset with him he wouldn't speak to him for the 1st year he was in the program. Then, when he made his first pro bowl he flew him out to Hawaii to thank him.
The more we spoke the harder it was to believe that he wasn't brought back in the fold somehow these last 10 years.
He's a pretty big dude, too and looked more like a 50 year-old than late 60's.
Get that MF back in the fold!!

Rb is one position we are ok at. I think Duke and Gus both looked improved under ICe. plus richardson was a pretty good coach too. soldinger is a great coach but he is not a players coach. he is a tough old school guy. not a great recruiter and hard shell.

Word was that he didn't have the energy to recruit the way he did in his younger days.

Yeah sorry...last thing we need on staff is another subpar recruiter. So maybe these "guest appearances" are actually the best route!

one thing i will say on Soldinger, his backs were tough, something we lack big time as a program aren't tough.
Maybe next coach, next year will hire the guy.....
