Problem with Canes is same problem with Dolphins

The problem is that they both have head coaches who don't specialize in anything and aren't known for being great or revolutionary at anything. They are pointless to have as a head coach when this is the case. Almost every single successful team int he NFL and college has a head coach who's known as successful at or a guru at SOMETHING..ANYTHING.

Philbin is an OC who never called plays and doesn't call plays now. He doesn't coach D. To quote Office Space "Can ya tell me, what it is....ya do here?".

Al Golden ... special teams? archaic defense? Does he call the plays on offense or defense? no. wtf is the point of him being here too?

interesting parallels. Canes havent had a qb in about 12 years, dolphins 18 years. Both share the worst home field, possibly in pro/college sports. Both have horrendus ownership/president, which has lead to bad hires and bad decisions.

shaky QB play, havent made a BCS/playoff game in forever, underwhelming offensive line play

The dolphins main problem is QB. Their owner, Stephen Ross, will do anything to make the dolphins viable again. He's paying for the stadium upgrades and he spends money for FA's & coaches. It's hard getting a great QB in the NFL, it's a crap shoot.

If UM would spend money, Mario Cristobal would "probably" still be on this staff, Calvin Ridley & SBB wouldn't be committed to Bama (maybe), and facilities would be on par with SEC schools.

yeah i think both struggle from not having football competent people in the head office. it's that trickle down effect.
