By chopping quarters down to 10 mins, will spare fans prolonging humiliation of Miami losing to East Rhode Island State College*.

*Women only school btw

This is a good idea. I can’t think of a good argument against it. if you’re winning 49-0 at half, pull all your starters, use second and third teamers the rest of the way and shorten the game.

Coaches on the field see close up how badly an inferior team is getting beaten up. The inferior team is only playing for the money anyway. Let them collect their $1.5 million and get out of town.

Might be a problem for bettors seeking to cover huge spreads but I’m sure Vegas could come up with an arrangement. Some advertisers with 4th quarter spots might need to be compensated.

Isn't there already a "Miami Rule" in cfb? This is going to get confusing.

"This decision came after a first half where Syracuse was absolutely dominant. They scored 21 in the 1st quarter and tacked on another 28 in the 2nd, giving them a 49-0 lead over Wagner at halftime."

Been telling y'all

The ACC is tuff!

I played at ODU in '13 when we went to UNC. They put up 80 on us by the end of the 3rd quarter. We had the shortened 4th quarter of 10 mins.

I live just outside Savannah and this was funny.
We beat them twice, 77-7 under Golden and 77-0 under Richt.

Their TD in Miami’ a 77-7 win was an 75-yard TD run in the rain. And the game was switched to a 10-min running clock at halftime, with the score 49-0. I don’t think the 77-0 game was changed. The halftime score was only 28-0.
