Potent Portalbles- 4 star DT

Supposedly transferring due to personal issues (family?) By all accounts, LSU planned on him being a full time starter in 2020, so they didn't run him off. They actually convinced him to withdraw from the portal once before (he went into the portal early Feb, withdrew name, then went back in) . They wanted him on the team. He's a pass rush DT (14 sacks as a HS junior), which is perfect for Manny's aggressive 4-3.

Thanks- I was linking an article showing his HS stats. He tore his ACL his senior year so he wasn't going to rise in the rankings (couldn't go to camp etc), otherwise he might have been closer to 5 star (at least from what I've read). Played top competition in HS and instinctively plays with leverage. Looks like LSU is looking for war daddy DTs (the other DTs in the article tip the scales at 350+ lbs) so he doesn't quite fit their new scheme. Aranda is 3-4 guy, I think this kid was recruited and signed before Aranda, when LSU ran a 4-3. Maybe he could play DE in a 3-4, but he might not want to play there.

Anyways, just a gut feeling the kid is going to be an impact player somewhere and fits Miami's 4-3 perfectly. I think this is a lucky break for some team where you can find an elite talent looking to transfer because he doesn't fit a new coach's scheme. He'll probably grow another inch or two and can put on more muscle mass, so I can see him at 6'2 or 6'3" 290 lbs his senior year, so very close to Gerald Willis's size. That's would work just fine in Manny's D. I hope Manny goes after the kid, but I understand if people would rather have a brand new recruit with 5 years of eligibility over a recruit with 3 years of eligibility.

If I could get my pick of all the players left in the portal, I'd take this kid and the 4 star OT from Illinois that Enos offered while he was at Arkansas.

Color me skeptical. The last 4* lineman transfer we took from LSU can’t even get mentioned in our two deep on OL, and he’s a 5th year senior.

FYI the kid that is transferring for “family” reasons is another LSU freshman DT Dominic Livingston, whose looking to go play somewhere in Texas. This kid is from Shreveport, LA. As for his immediate eligibility, has that been already determined or does he still need clearance?

I think the kids a stud but as others have mentioned I think we have more pressing needs at CB and OL. If you can get Martin to transfer and open up a spot then awesome.

According to 247, he is immediately eligible. Looks like someone started a thread the first time he went into the portal (then withdrew, now he's back in)

Word on Tigerdroppings is personal issues. Also makes sense that a 4-3 DT is looking for greener pastures since the DC is a 3-4 guy.

Said he only played 2 games would mean he would be a redshirt freshman and be a 4 to play 3.

He would probably sit wherever he goes.
