Post Game Presser from El Jefe?

I know Manny loves Miami, but he'll have some good jobs to pick from at end of season. Fortunately since he is a defensive minded coach, he's not going to be in the conversation at UF, which would break my heart if he went there. If Frost moves to Nebraska, then UCF opens up, and Manny could dominate that conference. Let's be real, he's going to be the hottest coordinator name in coaching at the end of the season, and I don't see him as a Bud Foster type who wants to stay as a D coordinator forever. I can live with UCF, we won't be competing directly for recruits, but he'll still get incredible S Fl athletes and win big. Coach Kool then becomes D coord and I don't think we miss a beat.

His scheme don't look as good without elite talent. He needs a blue-chipper job to attract blu-chipper recruits; otherwise stay at Miami, get paid, look genius, and continue to develop as a coach..

Manny just looks so happy to be here I think it would take a special job to get him to go elsewhere.

Disagree. I think he just needs speed to have a good defense, which S FL has in spades. 1-2 star kids (sprinkle in a few 3 stars) who may not be Miami caliber but still great athletes could be monsters at UCF, and they could dominate the AAC. Anyways, I hope Miami just pays him what he's worth, throw another 750k at him, do what it takes.

It's funny- the difference in hiring an elite coach vs. a bum (Richt to Golden) was about 1.5 million a year. So Shalala and the AD can ask themselves- how much do you think the national attention, the full stadiums, the buzz for recruiting (yes, academic recruiting too, people want to go to an "it" school), the merchandise, and the payouts for getting into a top bowl are worth? I'd guess it might be worth at least 1.5 million. So all this time going cheap, for what? Well, maybe the purgatory was worth it, because Miami is back on the national stage, and will be the #1 brand in college football until Richt hangs up his spurs (after 3-4 national titles).

Manny is our Bud Foster. He'll take a little pay raise every other year to stick around until Richt retires.

THIS.

Manny couldn't have been a greater hire and fit for us...... Dude probably thinks being a coach and DC for a school he has been rooting for since his childhood is the best job in the world. He really is our Bud Foster.. Manny doesn't strike me as a guy who really cares about becoming a HC and I doubt he leaves for some cold weather job or small school. He would be extremely hard to pull unless fiction happens among the coaches or something crazy like that but Richt hired the right people who seem to enjoy each other.

Not part of the post game presser. A sideline reporter asked Richt what he said to the team at half time. He said ( nothing). He walked in the locker room and the seniors were saying it for him so just stood back and listened. Shows he has great respect leadership on the team. I loved it.
