Hate that we lost but I feel encouraged after game one more than I have been in past seasons

  • The D played well enough to win
  • We stopped the run
  • We played our toughest opponent on the schedule to a 4 pt game
  • How do you get sacked 10 times and are still in position to win with 2 min left .Again a credit to how well we played on D
  • No injuries
  • IMO :This team is better than the one that got hammered by LSU and will get much better as the season moves along

I agree 100%. Did we have a chance to win that game? Without a doubt and it hurts that much more knowing how close we were. Just my take but if you would have told me we only lost by 4 and JW other than some basic freshman qb things had a 66% completion rating and didnt turn the ball over I would have been pumped. I think the team showed a fight and the ability to improve. That's the big difference that I saw last night compared to last year.

I think we have the kids and coaching staff to get a lot better. Whereas last year I felt like we never had the pieces to get better, we just kind of "were". I have a really hard time believing we don't get a lot better before that NC game and by the end of the year I think we will be a lot better than all of the people crying on the boards think we are.

These are my thoughts exactly. If this team plays with the same intensity and cleans up the fixable mistakes, we could have the kind of year needed to secure the recruiting class we so desperately need in 2020.

Without a doubt! My biggest worry honestly going into this game was getting blow out by 30 and then it makes #TNM and the recruiting pitch pretty darn hard. Obviously we wanted to win but having a close game like that where we did some really good things I don't think hurts our recruiting which for me was the bigger deal long term here.
