You guys think Toure is a lock to start? Is the dude even healthy enough to play? I know yall love to post his workout videos but I’m very curious if that dude is going to be in a non contact jersey when the pads come on in a couple of weeks

Yes . I expect him to be full go. Captain and leader and in the #1 jersey

Is Bobby Washington healthy going into camp? He won’t start, but hoping he can carve out a role.

In an interview with 50, Pruitt said Washington has been participating for all summer workouts with no limitations. I will believe it when I see it, but I would really like to see Washington in this defense.
Bobby gotta be the answer. I won't watch another LB tape until he pans out.

By when? Cause I see basically no world where the top 2 week 1 isn't probably just gunna be Wes and Toure. Though I can see is heavily playing differnt groupings purely based on matchups and situation obviously.

This LB group I actually think may have the largest variance of any unit on the team. Like if we get play like last year - and with Toure kinda being more of a 1 for 1 replacement with Mauigoa I don't think that's out the realm of possibility - it's bad (if like Wiley isn't ready, Pruitt is still too slim, and like one of Popo/Bonner aren't playing well or hurt). But I think there is absolutely enough talent on this roster to be what the 2nd best or 3rd best LB unit in the conference without a doubt this year. Pitt has possibly a top 3 unit at LB in the country returning, and I'm sure Clemsons is good as well. But like if we don't at least get Good LB play I'd be very dissapointed.

Safety I view similar, but just due to depth purposes I think probabilites are just way higher that we get closer to avg play than great play there. Like if Poyser is hurt or isn't a dawg and we may be really screwed there. At LB I don't think there is really all that much pressure on one particular guy being THE DUDE....

Like I can see any/all of Toure, Pruitt, Wiley, Bobby all being studs here at some point. I can't imagine Popo and Bonner are anything worse that at least solid players tbh. If both them were our starters I'd feel confident we'd be at least average. Alderman and Chase Smith I'd assume are pure ST guys, who in a worst case injury luck scenario are at least possibly competent at this level, which for LBs like 7-9 or whatever in the pecking order is fine.

Wes is the real coin flip. Dudes going to play a **** load no matter what given he seems to be one of the defensive leaders, is a senior and has started 3 seasons here. If there is anyone we NEED to be good/great at LB this year, its him, just because I'd have low confidence he doesn't get a lot of snaps regardless what happens. I hope to god he's got it all mentally down for once... Unlike most I actually think he was fine for the most part last season. But we need better than that out of him this season.

Bryant won't be at LB - he's at Edge. I think Pruitt will be playing in Nickel packages

I hope we see some packages on obvious passing situations where Bryant, Lightfoot, or Pickett line up at edge and Bain and Blount kick inside
