IMHO, this class is infinitely better than the previous, but still only slightly above a meh.

so you are saying that this is staff is average for Division 1 football? yeah.....okay

Solid B+, could be an A- if we add someone like Cristobal for te/ co oc Mario and one of George McDonald, Kevin beard, Lamar Thomas or another wide receiver coach who can coach and recruit at a high level

I'll give A-..if we get Lamar Thomas and mario...if not B- for above average

would be B+, A if the secondary coaches weren't so inexperienced...for now a solid B

Think it's a B so far. I think most of the staff's grades is yet to be determined. Only one I'm 100% sure on is Kool being an A+. Brown is very good, but not up there with Kool. Everyone else there are legitimate questions, however some I feel more comfortable with than others. I'm just trying to keep an open mind and stay positive with the program and the direction we're headed. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the staff.

really Lamar Thomas and Mario are worth a full letter grade? I cant imagine what coach cool is worth then...without him you probably think this staff is a D-.
Having Richt gives this staff a B minimum anyway. Having the best DL coach in the NCAA increases that a lot.
The only thing I dont really like would be if Richts son isnt a GA. We've announced 8 people and still have WR, TE, LB, and Co-OC to go. So if little Richt isn't a GA, I think that is a problem. Diaz is very likely to be LB coach, which is fine. Still I wouldn't like having one guy being WR, TE, and Co-OC. That would be ridiculous.

first off i t hink staff is at worst a b+ and not done. have 2 graduate assistant positions to give out to go with 1 more position coach. plus a s& c staff.

the staff we got now is head and shoulders better then had with golden. most of this staff has sec coaching experiance. and diaz for all his so called faults has never coached on a power 5 team that won less then 8 games. his d is always good in redzone td pct, tfl's , turnovers. usually great at avoiding big plays also.

diaz is a better hire then most give him credit for, rumph has proven he can coach. there is a reason some of the most coveted db recruits in florida are from american heritage. banda has earned his promotion and sounded like msu players liked him better then coach who left.

diaz will coach lb's and his lbs have been pretty good except for that 1 yr and 1 game at texas, kulgowski is best dl coach in college, searles is one of the better ol coaches. coaches move around. he wasn't fired he chose to leave all but texas job when entire staff got let go. rb coach thomas brown has coached some of the best rbs in last 2 yrs in college.

jon richt will help h is dad and mark richt when calling plays was a 2 time sec champ coach who came very close to playing for a nc 2 yrs ago. now harley has a solid resume as a st coach and recruiting coordinator at marshall, and will probaby coach te's wr coach is one spot left open

this staff so far is a b+ at worst , and thats because people thought corey raymond was coming as db coach and instead got 2 first time college position coaches. even though i think both will be great at what they do.

The most important remaining hire is the S&C Coach. Miami needs Ivery or someone of equal to better caliber. The Canes are weak and out of condition to the point that we may not see the dramatic improvement we're searching for, even with improved technique and schemes.

Miami used to be the hardest working team in college football. The program needs to regain that attitude for any hope of a return to elite status.

Im still wondering about little richt, is he a GA or a coach? No one has been straight about it im hoping GA

If we get ivey or moffit it's a solid B+ or A- in my opinion

1) We Have Mark Richt who gets you a solid B+ in itself as being one of the best coaches in the country and the fact that he's calling plays as OC is AMAZING. Seriously, look back at his success at UGA while calling plays. UGA decline coincided with him giving up play calling ability. Also he was play caller for FSU in their hayday, and called plays for one of their championships (B+)

2)We have the best d line coach in the country (A+)

3)We have an awesome offensive line coach who's had success at several major programs and part of national championship team under saban. Any guy that gets hired and promoted by saban, works for mack brown, frank beamer, and richt twice is worth an A imo. (A)

4)Brown is a solid RB coach who was smart to take this position. He will groom under Richt and i'm sure will be a play caller in a few years for someone. He's coached some amazing backs the last few years and has brought the best out of them(melvin gordon almost breaking record for rushing/nick chubb). Also very young and a former NFL player so recruits will be able to relate/look up to. (B)

5)Personally I'm not thrilled about the diaz hire but i'm not upset either, besides not sure who else wanted to come or was available. Several stats have been thrown out there, guy is not an elite but with advanced stats he has had success everywhere he went immediately and he brings pressure. Him with matched with kuligowski and more talent could be fun to watch. I can dig it considering thats an upgrade from what we're used to (B-)

6)Rumph/Banda. I'm not crazy for these hires, and a little disappointed. I'm sure Richt tried for raymond as was reported but it seems raymond just wanted more money from LSU. Besides we were probably running out of money at this point(just my guess). Rumph has NFL experience, played at UM, was a successful high school coach and is well respected in the community. Not much more you can ask for with a position coach only focusing on one area. Richt did well by not giving them huge responsibility, imo cornerbacks coach seems like a pretty cake job and will ultimately fall on diaz and his scheme. Rumph will just teach his experience. (C)

I mean honestly I can't remember the last time I have heard someone only being a cornerback coach. I literally know nothing of Banda but if hartley can jump freely between TE and Safeties in his coaching past, he may provide guidance there. He also has been around diaz for a year so that may help.

7)Hartley, no idea. I mean he as their recruiting coordinator so i LOVE that because UGA recruited very well, special teams coordinator and TE coach? Idk how well he will do there so I can't complain or praise the guy for his actual coaching just like the recruiting aspect of it (B+)

Position coaches matter, don't get me wrong but many are replaceable and have minimal impact. The exception to this imo is D line coaches and O line coaches. The rest are typically replaceable at any time. People are failing to realize one important thing. Great position coaches don't remain position coaches long(only exception I can think of recent is kuligowski because his good friend Pinkel was the HC). They get promoted or heavy raises to where they won't leave their job (see corey raymond).

Honestly what position coach at a major institution is going to make a lateral move unless theirs a increase in title/pay (which we cannot give)?. Position coaches are great pieces to the staff but all calls/training/scheme is going to run specifically through the coordinators. position coaches will teach technique, run drills etc. I think that's why rumph can do very well along with banda, because all they have to do is teach them basic technique and make sure they know the scheme that Diaz or is putting into place.

our team's season will not rest on the shoulders of Banda, Rumph, whoever the WR coach is, etc. I think Searels and Kuligowski will matter a lot more with nearly Richt and Diaz holding the entire fate of the team in their hands.

imo, the most important are OC, DC, Strength, DL, OL in no particular order

if we get Ivey/Moffitt then we are looking at OC(A), DC(B-) Strenght(A+), DL(A+), OL(A)

Coaching staff is a B- to C so far, in my opinion. We got Richt and Kool, which are excellent coaches. A couple of good coaches and a few question marks. Which balances my grade out to a B- or C.

We still have a few hires to go though, so the grade can still improve a lot.

A+. So far we are undefeated with the new staff. Can't we all just be happy and support the U. Go buy your swag gear, tickets, tailgate, and show your support. We are the last link that this team needs to be successful. Its shameful even when we are winning and fan presence is nowhere to be found. Go show MR and the boys that we are with them 100% instead of *****ing on a website that they care less about.
Someone should send MC welcome cupcakes!! :-)
