Forgive me if this has already been posted, but…
With conferences openly discussing playoff realignment, two very different ideas are being floated:
Big Ten proposal:

• No conference championship games
• Top 4 teams from each conference qualify
• Week 1: conference “play-in” games
• Week 2: national seeding begins

SEC proposal:

• Keep the conference championship game
• Conference champion gets automatic playoff bid
• Remaining spots filled at-large

Give me the BIG 10 ideal, all day.

I like the big ten model. Conference championship games mean nothing, and they could start the playoff weeks earlier. We’d have better games, more meaningful games,
