i'm gonna give an offensive & defensive player

On offense Dorsett i was pretty disappointed with him last year but so far this season he's been very reliable deep and has made big plays in all 3 games for his frosh QB

On defense Thurston has been phenomenal, he's always looked the part and showed flashes but this year he's put it all together

i'm interested to see who has surprised you guys and why.

On offense I'd say Berrios. Coming back from the acl and in top form. We have a good one there.

On defense, Corn Elder without a doubt. Artie better watch over his shoulder, and stop with the silly penalties, cause this guy is on the verge of stealing reps. Best cb I thought yesterday.

Antonio Crawford has played well from what I have seen of him. Also big up to warlord for being a superb tightend for us.

Two players surprised me the most not in a good way are Taylor Gadbois and Danny Isidora. Gadbois is a prep kid ( making him a older sophomore) and life long cane yet his reported bad attitude during the offseason has showed itself through his terrible play thus far.

An as for Isidora he came out of high school in 2012 labelled as one of the best mauling gaurds in the country, yet now he is getting man handled as a red shirt sophomore, which is shocking. An now Isidora is getting run over or beat by inside moves from dlinemen.

We can't just say next man up because we need a 10 man rotation at oline to have a successful season, so Kehoe needs to light a fire under these guys. These are times I wish we had Stoutland coaching our guys because he was more of tactician then Kehoe.

Go Canes

Dallas Crawford.

Not only has he been playing pretty well at safety, but I get endless enjoyment in watching him as the holder on special teams while waiting for the inevitable (probably poorly designed) trick plays we'll run.

Biggest surprise on defense has to be Armbruster. He is playing at a much higher level. Of new players, Cortel Jenkins looks like a steal. A true freshman holding his own at nose tackle? We got a good one here.

Armbrister - 4 sacks already if I'm not mistaken
Yearby - amazing footwork and hits the hole faster than anyone on the team. Duke will forever be missed but at least now we can sleep comfortably.
Dorsett - for not dropping easy passes like he had in the past.
Kamalu - For his signature move "The Kamalu Slamalu"
Berrios - always expected this from him to be honest
Jenkins - keep eating big fella
Chad Thomas - seems like every time he's in the game there's a play being made in the back field or the QB has to rush.

Offense Surprise: Braxton Berrios
Defense Surprise: Thurston Armbrister & The Whole Defensive Line (Big Hurt, Chick, McCord, Kamalu, Jenkins, Harris)

Dallas Crawford.

Dallas misjudged a ball in the air in the 3 rd qt which leads me to believe he was scared.
it was with 11:30 mins in the 3 rd i believe when the QB threw the ball in the air and i was hoping Dallas would make a play on it.
all he did was look at the ball come down and land at the Wr hands for a first down.
This was very alarming because kC Rodgers did the same **** vs FSU .

Anyhow, Deon and Carter are a better safety tandem imo!

Thurston Armbrister- Wish he had another year.
Braxton Berrios- Thought he'd contribute, but not this much this early.
Courtel Jenkins- He can play DT.

Off- Berrios. I was not high on him
Def- I was want to say Armbrister but Jenkins i swore was gonna be a jag so i will say jenkins.

First the bad...

Offense- Isidora. I've posted time and time again that he needs to anchor the right side of the line and so far he looks like ish!

Defense-Deon Bush I think it's more coaching and lack of player development but at times Bush plays like doo doo!

The Good:

Offense-Berrios. Torn acl, true freshman. Kid is a baller regardless.

Defense-Jenkins. Get real. No one saw this coming. Steal of the recruiting season if you ask me.

When Dallas did that it really brought back that memory..... Should have been a smack or a pick.... At the least a bat down

Armbrister- Playing great!
Jenkins- Was not expecting him to be this good. I thought he would RS this yr.
Berrios- This guy catches everything. Maybe our go to wr already.

PK I thought that call against AB on the sidelines was ticky tack, but you're right about Corn - he's balling. I think at this point in the season he's actually a better man cover corner than Howard - who isn't bad but who does seem to possess Corn's athleticism.
