Whenever something doesn't go well or go as planned, there's always an upside whether or not you immediately see it. Now that we've all vented our anger and disbelief over the Pitt loss, we can look for the silver lining in this crappy ending to an otherwise great season.

Had we eeked out another close win against Pitt, Malik may not have gotten the wake-up call he needed. When he's been dialed in for the big-time, big-crowd games (VT, ND) he's been pretty solid. Hitting receivers, making good choices with the ball, etc. He admittedly wasn't focused for the Pitt game, and the dude couldn't throw the ball to save his life.

All that to say, losing his first game and getting benched for a series (hopefully) means he'll have a new level of focus during practice this week, and come in laser focused for Clemson.

The Pitt loss, while the ****tiest way possible to end the season, may end up saving us in the ACC championship game. An undefeated team thinking they're destined to keep winning is definitely more of a liability than a team that just got their *** handed to them by a nobody. They'll be ready, and we'll have Pitt to thank (figure of speech of course...because **** Pitt).

An angry Miami team demolished the #3 team in the country. A so-so Nc St team had Clemson on the ropes, and you know Clemson was playing damned hard to win since that game was to decide the ACC Atlantic division. So we CAN win against Clemson. Like you, I hope that the Pitt game was a swift kick in the *** for the entire team. Every single unit, even the DL, was not giving full effort. We have one extra day to plan. The team needs to make the most of it.

Jesus the same threads over and over

I don't sit around reading every word that comes across this forum all day every day, so I obviously wasn't aware of that. Thanks for the information though.

So you dont meander around a bit and see what the general feelings after losing friday and the rational that arrived after bama lost???

I do...but like plenty of people here, that still doesn't mean I see it all. I read a bit here and there and then go do other stuff. Tons of threads pass through this forum every day. It's not unbelievable that people would miss threads sharing similar thoughts.

Hey, it is not our fault you think you have a life! Next thing you know you will be blaming some job! Well now that I wasted me time and clicked on this thread, yes there is an upside. Like all Cane team back in the day, love is bad and hate is good for them. Canes get too much love and they roll over on their backs for their bellies to get rubbed. Feed them hate and latch onto your throat like any good pit bull would. Last week they jumped Clemson into 2nd. That was bad. Now we are,out of the top four. Bad news for Clemson. A pack of hurt angry dogs are coming and want your throat.

It's pretty crazy how that works and how that's been true for generations of Canes teams now. Some teams thrive at the top and don't need to be fed by doubters and hate. But the Canes have always thrived on it like you said. Interesting psychology and what's even more interesting is how that culture has been kept alive for decades now. Definitely not a bad thing...hope the Canes that beat ND a few weeks ago show up in Charlotte. That was just pure brutality.

Even before Howard, Canes had history of playing that way. If I am not mistakenn we beat UT in the OB when they were ranked number 1.
