Neither was LSU last year but we made them look like it.

Florida is overrated going into 2019, but LSU was grossly overrated coming into 2018.

The Tigers finished 10-3 last year, ranked #7 in the nation in the final poll. The Canes were a preseason #8 and wound up going 7-6.

Tigers recruit like a machine—their lone misstep, a 15th-ranked class in Orgeron's first season. They had a ton of talent on the field for last year's opener.

Miami didn't make LSU look like something they weren't. They were a good team that was overlooked going into last year, having gone 9-4 in 2017 in Orgeron's first full year (and losing to Troy at home) and Joe Burrows' being an unknown quarterback transfer, who obviously panned out for them.

The difference is we now have a young hungry coach and a real offensive coordinator.

Last year we had the old man Georgia fired for a lack of performance with a foot out the door to retirement..... and no offensive coordinator.

We could lose to UF, but I'd be absolutely shocked if the game is not competitive and down to the wire. Our punter alone easily accounted for 14-17 of LSU's points last year. The fact the aforementioned abomination of a coach walked into last season with no contingency plan for that liability of a punter told me everything I needed to know BEFORE the season even started.

I trust better times are ahead because I'm absolutely sure it can't get worse than what we saw last year given our talent level.

I noticed we're #2 in the ACC, with Va Tech a distant #3. No one else makes either Top 20/25 list. What a crappy conference. ... I personally think Virginia is the biggest threat we face in the Coastal, and Cuze will give Clemson some troubles in the Atlantic.

I'm trying to figure out all the Vag Tech love. I get they play a crap schedule but if they get hit with a few injuries they going to have a team of walk ons playing.

THIS.

Especially the punting situation.

People act like LSU just steamrolled us jv style.

That wasn’t the case.

Us and them will start the season ranked if for no other reason than to add some national appeal to 8/24.

You missed my point there.

Wow, the Utes at #8 eh Phil? Miami at #15 you say? Maybe this is how the season pans out but not so sure it should start off this way, although his #10 ranking of the hated Gayturd seems horribly perfect. With no returning starter at QB, a young secondary, and no OL to speak of as of yet - I can see why so many other periodicals don’t have us ranked at all to begin the season. I’d rather they slept on us, so we can vault up the standings as the season progresses. Although that might just be a SEC thang
