PFF pays people to score each game. I think they do it for all levels of NCAA and now NAIA. I'm sure they use AI to read video as a quality control

In general, objective, efficiency-based data that goes beyond a simple box score is going to be superior to analysis that is based on subjective criteria. This is especially true when there is a discrepancy between both models, like there was in grading Caleb William's performance during wk 1 of this NFL season.

 
How did Thornton get graded so high.His only skill is running into people with force.He can;t cover or tackle.
PFF individual stats are retarded as they have no clue what responsibilities are and at best count objective indicators. Thorton is a really good roll player but doesn’t wrap in space. They likely overrate him for pressure and don’t reduce for whiffs
