Have you heard anything on the tom Herman and Miami front? We have heard plenty about Butch, strong, Cristobal to this point but should we even get our hopes up or are we even targeting him right now?

Not Pete or DMoney nor do I carry the same credibility either do. However, Tom Herman is on everyone's list and frankly with how bad our team is rebuild wise, what we pay, along with other logistics other schools will create an easier "yes" for him than we will. Still think we should go after him hard though

Misguided post.

Not a tough "rebuild" at Miami right now, in the big scheme of things.

Indications are we're willing to shell real $$ this go around.

"Other logistics" means what?

You're right, though, that every one and their brother is intrigued by Herman.

Only been at Houston for 1 year. I predict he stays there for at least another season or 2.

Thank God. Now maybe everyone will stop whining about this guy.

How is $3mil going to keep him there? He may chose to stay, but it won't be because nobody was willing to pay him $4mil. ****, it looks like even Miami is willing to pony up that kind of cash, I would imagine USCe/w will pay their next coach more than we do.

$3M is chump change. That won't keep him there.

I would think they asked him or his agent what number would keep him there. I find it hard to believe that they would announce a number not knowing how he would respond only to find out he went somewhere else for an extra 1/2 million or so.

Also, I think not many schools will be offering over 3.5 million for his services yet. He is not at the same level of Miles, Saban or Harbaugh. At least not yet.

Assuming he agrees to the new pay raise, I've never heard a coach take the new raise and then leave anyway. Maybe the next year, sure, but not the same year. This year is going to be wild with all the openings, especially if LSU opens too. Maybe he might hold off on signing the upgrade. Have you seen where he accepted it?

Rumor has it that he's made his decision. If he hasn't, he would be wise either negotiate for more money from Huston or hang tight and see what offers he gets. He's missing a great opportunity if he doesn't work this situation into a $4mil+ salary.

Whoever we hire, I want a minimal buy out that decreases to zero at the end of year three or better yet - year two.
