Pat Fitzgerald

Just read the wikipedia article on the allegations of hazing made during his tenure at Northwestern, that's wild and quite honestly one of the most disgusting things I've read about a football team in a long time. I thought hazing was "fun" for the upperclassmen, if that is "fun" for them, yikes...

He was never a coordinator or X and O guy. Not sure about his clock management. Cristobal 2.0

Built a disciplined program at a place that it is very hard to do. Bringing him in as an analyst and working with the linebackers would be a major coup.

Also would help making recruiting Chicagoland a lot easier.

Pat Fitzgerald got a big settlement because his lawyers successfully argued that he was unaware that any of the alleged hazing had occurred while he was coach.

So that’s good in winning a multi-million dollar settlement, but is absolutely awful for your reputation as a coach to readily admit you ran an extremely toxic program with no oversight to allow some absolutely heinous **** to occur under your watch.

So what you're saying is he will be working at an SEC school soon.

Stanford needs a HC next year. I’m old and remember when Northwestern HC Denny Green (“they are who we thought they were”) made the jump to Stanford and then on to the NFL.

Whaddaya think?

****, I’m so old that I remember when Northwestern HC, Ara Parseghian, made the jump to Notre Dame and became a legend.

With Luck as AD and Reich as interim coach, Stanford could be an interesting opportunity. Did Reich not want a permanent college job or was it too late in the cycle?

What happened to Pat Fitzgerald is unacceptable.

Talk about a guy that loved his alma mater.

All-American LB at NU that took the laughing stock of college football and put them in the Rose Bowl.

Dude was a beast on the field and by all accounts a solid dude. He turned down all kinds of money to stay at NU. If you look at where their program is before and after his arrival, wow.

There's really nothing bad you can say about the guy, imo.
