The part of the article I care about:
Freshman Ahmmon Richards, averaging 22.6 yards (14th in the country) on nine catches, “has completely grown into his role,” Berrios said. “He’s physical on the perimeter” and UM believes he can be a great one.
Not opposed to the Bible gift.. reading optional helps.

I appreciate the fact that CMR is a man of faith, but I hope CMR loses his religion every Saturday and sodomizes our opponents.

Not a religious man myself but I gotta say, I wish there were more Christians like Richt in the world

I have no problem with this gift. Likely a book I should spend time with at least to increase my knowledge of its readings.

It's a gift. Can't imagine anyone can be too upset about it. He is PC about it and always tells players they have no obligation to read

there is nothing sinful about winning, so we're good

Hey, heck of a lot better than suicide vest for each player. Looks like King James version. I'm Catholic and prefer the Latin Vulgate with the Douay-Rheims English version when I am being lazy. Mark is Protestant and I imagine The Bible is the center of his faith. This would be a special gift from him and I expect most f the kids were touched by it.

Richt is seemingly more of an Old Testament man.

Offering the opposition up as sacrifice shouldn't be too much of an issue with the big fella

Is this really allowed under church and state separation as long as the University of Miami accepts federal money?

Considering its a private school, pretty sure they can do whatever they want. And it was a gift like pointed out, as long as he doesnt force it down there throats it would be fine at a public school as well.

PMR derives his strength, conviction, and success from his faith in God. It is his winning formula, one he's chosen to share with his players without stuffing it down their throats. As quoted in Samuel 2:30 (and chariots of fire), "he who honors me, I will honor"

Let's remember that Father Leo was always on the sidelines during our glory days. When I was young, in the Dolphin's heyday, I frequently attended daily Mass and Shula was always there. Trader Jack was a daily Mass Catholic during Marlins last World Series. I associate God and prayers to Him with winning titles. I have no problem with mark doing this, but maybe he should limit them to Old Testament readings during the season -- non o the turn the other cheek stuff there.

It wasn't a gift. Article forgot to mention it was part of Richt's new Adidas package. Should be in stock at All Canes next week.
