Pass Rush on 3rd Downs

He doesn’t seem to know what he is doing yet. On that long run by Price to the RZ, he manhandled the OL and got great knockback but completely forgot about the ball, lol. The tools are there, he is twitched up too but he still needs work to put it all together, and he will. He will get plenty of opportunities because on that 3rd down package alone, he will get his chances with so much OL attention going to 3 and 4.
 
The 3 man rush on their first TD was a bad look. I am ok with a 3 man rush, but not when 99 is on the outside. He was made to look foolish and could not contain the edge. That was not his fault, he was put in an impossible position. Lightfoot or Bryant should have been in that spot.

I think ND caught us where we could not sub in the personnel we wanted. Purely a guess by me but our DC correctly guessed pass and dropping 8 in coverage to cover 10 yards is a decent way to make a young QB try to force something he shouldnt or at worse throw it away. If you watch the play Messidor is actually on the outside and drops back 5 yards to the goal line. I dont think anyone wants Messidor covering in space equally as bad as having Moten on the edge.

I agree, but I think playing him as the 4 DT is a disservice to him. I understand that they are tryna slide him inside like they did Bain on obvious passing downs. It makes sense, since he would be fresh and he’s technically a bigger DE in a 4-3 scheme, but he’s doesn’t seem to be effective in that role right now like Bain was.

We gotta remember he still 18 too he gone be straight
