Park the Bus

The kid had like 4 carries and we are ready to run him out of Miami..smh

Be real with yourselves. Was those runs really catered to his down hill style.

? This has been going of for two years he is not cut out to be at Miami . His future is garbage time and special teams
And you base this off the 2 carries he gets a game? Do you realize that is his average?

You guys act like he is getting 20 plus carries.

Gus has 15 carries all season (5.4 yards a carry and 2 tds). I think people are being a little harsh. He only had 3 carries against Duke with not much opening.

Duke had 25 carries against Duke U and had 2 catches. He is getting his touches.

Why is he not on kickoff? Don't want to risk a injury.

I would definitely consider having him turn into a Charles Clay type player. Has the frame to be a very good wing.

15 more carries yearby could of had , gus shouldnt touch the ball . I would hand the ball off to tucker before i let him touch at least tucker likes to hit and im pretty sure he is faster than gus too

Pound for pound one of the softest runners ever at Miami. Sad truth.

Runs very timidly. Doesn't utilize his size well at all.

Maybe he has nightmares from Denzel's hits on him.

You really want Tucker to get touches over Gus? I have seen Gus have some pretty nice runs (even though they were against cupcakes), he has shown flashes. He also is a pretty good blocker. Yearby still needs some more polishing with his blocks especially because he is young and small. One missed block and Heaps will be our quarterback. Mike James used to take some heat early in his career too. Since we are running back U, we have high standards for our running backs. Either perform or get gone. I wish we had these standards for our defensive lineman as well. I feel Yearby should get touches over Gus, but I am not ready to give up on Gus the minibus yet, especially because injuries always happen.

He is a transfer candidate after the season. I can't think of a single position he could contribute where there isn't or should be better options.

Gus the bus is over unless he gets it in gear. Becomes more evident every game.

Also I do have this weird feeling Duke might stay. But then I think he might go too.

I've seen Duke as high as #2 or #3 for junior class RBs. I'll tell you. If anyone wants to disagree go ahead. But I rate him as 2nd with a tie with Gordon from Wisconsin for RBs with Gurley being #1. Duke is not utilized enough.

But don't get it twisted, teams are salivating over him, if he's not taken in the first he will go early second round. He can run, catch, stiff arm, keep moving his legs, gets the extra yards. Everything you want in a back. He's just missing some height and that's it. He can do it all.

I feel Duke is not used enough here. He's underused and it ****es me off. The dude was on pace for almost 2400+ all purpose yards to shatter records last season and now he's chugging up for it again this season too.

What also doesn't make sense to me. 2 things. Why is he not on kickoff? That's dumb move by staff. Why is he not automatically getting 25+ carries a game, he's built for it now. But yet we give dumb carries to Gus.

All I'm gonna say to end my rant. Duke is underused here. They do not give him enough carries.

Duke is great, but runningback is not a 1st round position anymore. They are a dime a dozen in the league, and no team will grab one before round 2.......only back with a chance of going 1st round is Gurley. Outside of him, all other top backs will be 2nd-3rd round pickups. Thats the nature of the NFL today. Just look at last year's draft.

dont understand how this staff thinks that he's a good 3rd down option! He slow out of his stance and has poor vision. Yearby is lighting quick to and through the hole and has great vision. Being big doesn't make you good in short yardage.

Golden and Coley like Gus a lot.

He will not transfer. He's going to more than likely continue to get touches.

What exactly are people expecting from Gus? He's a 3 star FB/RB hybrid, and I think that's the level he's played at.

You don't have to be All-American or a JAG. He's a solid RB who had a bad fumble - let's not overreact.

Lets assume Duke goes to the NFL next year and that our current RB commits stick. That gives us Yearby, Gray, Scarlett, Walton and Williams. Where do you see Gus in that lineup?

He better learn to love blocking or I don't see a role for him.

He could not block a lick Saturday night. Was almost as though he didn't know assignments, or didn't want to hit. Weird.

Exactly. I just see no role for him going forward. I hope I'm proven terribly wrong.

Running backs for next year.

Jr. Gus
So. Yearby, Gray (if he sticks at RB)
Fr. Scarlett, Walton, Williams
