our season doesnt start until oct 1

What was even the point of making this thread?

Cool OP, don't watch until Oct. 1. Actually, better yet, just don't watch at all

App State won't be easy unless they take the crowd out of the game early on.

Agreed, they will definitely come out ready to play, but I expect our talent and coaching to win us that game easily. We will know if App State will give us trouble if they beat or come close to beating Tennessee in week 1.

I expect GT to be much better than last year when they were ravaged by injuries so that game is not a slam dunk like the first 3.

My concern is the leap up in competition when we play FSU. 3 cupcakes ,followed by a decent ACC opponent and then boom FSU.

We take noles this year. Golden will not be in the locker room at halftime this year. I think we have chance of rolling into South Bend undefeated for our first Game of the Year in years. I think Mark was on the team when we beat ND once but he was part of enough beat downs by them to have a nice hate going.

I think we take the Noles down as well; however, the games before Notre Dame are not going to be easy. Coming off an emotional win against FSU, we better not let our guard down against UNC. Also, that Va. Tech game concerns me from the standpoint that presumably after two tough games, that short rest going into Blacksburg may take a toll, but I hope were ready. I believe in Richt to get them up to play.

None should be tough but we have to see the proof of that. We have real QB with a real QB coach for first time in long time. More important, a Dline coach who reminds me of the old days. ACC has not seen us play anything like our old defense combined with a quality QB and coach. It is going to come as a shock.

if we have trouble with app, it's because Richt has failed to get the team to quite being a bunch of pussies. Seriously, the talent gap is so wide that the only reason to fail is being weak willed.

Actually, I don't want to romp and stomp on FAMU and our next two teams. I rather hold a bit back during the GT game.

Then go full ****** on FSU and those to follow.

FSU will be tested by the time we meet (Ole Miss--Lou--and UNC). We will have 3 scrimmages and a mediocre ACC game under our belt

...ACC has not seen us play anything like our old defense combined with a quality QB and coach...

An excellent point that hasn't been made enough. The ACC writ large has no experience facing off against a true Canes football squad. If/when Richt get them back to playing that way (minus the out of control celebration penalties and full on dance numbers after each catch)...it will take the rest of the ACC a few seasons to try and catch up.

Recent success at Clemson aside, the only team even remotely built, athlete and culture, to try and handle it is FSU (obviously).

Good luck Richt in reminding the NCAA and SEC with the fact that "SEC style ball" was invented and used to build championships in none other than Coral Gables.

Go Canes.

App St. plays @ Tennessee first game of the season. Should give us a little glimpse of their squad.

I like to look at that as beat up, instead of tested. The danger will be Miami looking ahead, past App St or GT, to the FSU game. The talent gap with App St should help. They did beat Michigan, but there were a lot of stoned Michigan players that day.

We will have the advantage if FSU injuries pile up leading to our game ,so yes ,could work both ways as to who has the advantage.

Any real football fan understands that this year started on the first day of Spring practice. If this team has the same mindset as OP and wasnt excited for football all the way back in the spring then they dont have as much passion as we hope. They need to be hungry for every single snap of every single game and let out the beast on Sept 3 until New Years

I see the wheels completely falling off FSU this year. They are due for a huge slide into mediocrity. Of course, we'll have fans that say, "So we beat a 7-5 FSU team, who cares?" I think we not only beat FSU, but destroy them.

Appalacian State lost at home last year to Arkansas State 40-27 - We better pound them. We should come out expecting to win and take it to them. Not be timid like Golden's teams. I want to see our team play like savages and make wish they never scheduled us for two home games in a row. Send their fans home with their heads hanging.

Exactly. They will be pumped up until we punch them in the mouth a few times. Go in there, attack, and get the backups in around halftime.

Have you seen their recruiting? I think we beat them but what reason do you have for them "sliding into mediocrity?"

Personally I am excited to see a legitimately confident Miami team in a LOOOONG time. We have had alot of Faux Bravado over the past decade.
