Our Offense continues to be too predictable.

even our screen passes are shaky looking from Rosier....

Again, for the most part he's played well but he has certain limitations...

Our ENTIRE OFFENSE is predicated on making sure rosier doesn't cost us the game. Our dumb fanbase wants us to get even more complicated on offense when the kid we have running it can barely execute our current one. it took our qb FOUR FREAKING YEARS to start watching film.
Anyone blaming play calling for our struggles is an absolute brain dead ******. There are receivers running wild on every play but our qb can only make 1.5 reads per play. Jesus, our fanbase is dumb.

Yea predictable as in its sucked every game....Time for Richt to look in the mirror and be honest with himself that he doesn’t have it anymore if he ever did.

All we can do is hope he does that and when the extra coach comes in it’s an offensive guy.

Doubt he does that cause his ego won’t allow it but we can dream.

Richt isn't perfect, but if Rosier wasn't dog****, he throws for 500+ today (threw for 365) and we score 40+. He was 16-38 and most of the misses were WIDE OPEN WRs he flat out missed. Yes, Richt's play calling leaves something to be desired, but it seems a lot worse when the QB is as bad as he was today.

There was one slant to Berrios(the one where he caught while on his back) that if it's a more accurate throw - that goes to the house

Also, there was deeper one Jeff thomas that if he puts it on him, that's another big play

He missed Richards on a simple out route after the blocked punt that would've put the ball inside the 5.

Much of this is on Rosier. Id love for some of our X-and-) guru's to be able to see the all-22 film and really analyze this

The one to Jeff Thomas was the PI that would have went for a TD if he would have aired it out. Rosier is just an average quarterback. Agree on Richards.

One thing I notice is he has to work through his progression faster, that comes from film study.

There really is WR’s wide open every play. You hafta see it live to see it. Honest to God truth.

jw, the play Im referencing is where Thomas ran a deep slant towards the middle of the field on a 3rd down in the 3rd quarter, IIRC. The PI play was in the 4th and I think it was a play or two before Deejay Dallas' catch and run in the 4th quarter.( But all this is on memory, I have yet to rewatch the game)

For people saying there was nobody open or we only run deep routes, here’s the whole game.

Richt ain’t Bill Walsh, but the crowing is overblown.

Rosier is just a poor decision-maker.

One of many examples is at 59:15. It’s 2nd & 8. UNC in man coverage. Instead of looking at Ahmmon who beats the CB easily on a comeback route, he chooses to work the side with Herndon and stares him down the whole way (and delivers the ball late).

I'll say it again, till this Oline gets better at run blocking, this offense of Richts' will always have a hot-and-cold quality to it. And today, it had problems in pass pro which really bogged things down

till this unit upfront can consistently create 2nd and 5's and play-action opportunities, the offense will be spotty and reliant on chunk plays to bail them out. Richt simply doesn't have enough creativity to really mask this defiency

And that's what I can't wrap my brain around. Richt has been around this game his entire life and has been around some very creative offenses. How can he not be creative enough? Heck were not asking for Josh McDaniels level brilliance. We'll take Chud(OC) at this point. It's not like the guy has to reinvent offensive football. Just do the job of a P5 OC which is more than one run play and 4 verts.

Looking ahead to the future and considering the discussion about QB play holding back the offense, it's going to be really interesting to see what happens if Sitkowski ever sees the field here.

Not a Golden holdover, but a hand-picked Richt QB recruit who's not being dropped (according to Pete) despite Gray Crow/Kevin Olsen-esque production in an offense filled with elite RB/WR/OL talent at IMG prior to his benching.

He certainly won't see it for a long time. Perry/Weldon are the QBs for the next 3-4 years at least, and you have to sign at least 1 QB every year, so hopefully we sign one better in '19.

He'll never see the field as a QB at UM. Assuming He has hands, looks like He'll make a good TE though.

So if we all agree that Richt isn't a ****** and that our offense features simple concepts, what is the conclusion as to WHY our offense is the way it is?

Just come out and say it. Rosier! The kid has played very well overall but he has limitations that Richt has to factor in when he decides what type of offense to roll out there and the types of plays he calls. Yeah, I get it.

Now what I think threw many of us off is that Rosier for the most part has significantly exceeded expectations and with that it is only natural for fans to openly wonder why Richt has not opened the offense up more.

He worked that side because more than likely Richt doesn't give em' the autonomy to pick a side to work.

That lack of autonomy is the same reason Kaaya got slammed to the ground vs FSU on the very 1st play of the game last year.

Safety walked down, OLB showed blitz & blitzed, and Kaaya runs a naked bootleg into the teeth of the blitz anyway.

Now if Kaaya had the freedom to audible, He would've checked to a run...you run away from the blitz, not into it...simple.

Richt's a micro-manager.

At this point Paul Johnson is more creative on offense than Richt. Hope Richt has been saving the good plays for the next two weeks.

Lol so now Richts not only calling plays he’s making the QB reads too? You’re making narrative up to fit your beliefs

I said this in the Rosier Arm sling thread and I think it applies here too:

We have a couple freshman who we were rotating in at guard. Guys who are still very raw and learning on the job. We have our best RB out for the season. We have one competent blocking TE who plays a lot of snaps and is gassed most games.

And our best WR has not been 100% all season.

Let's keep everything in proper context here.

Look at the play again. Tackle went in instead of out.

If this is the reason, why throw the ball 38 times with Rosier (this doesn't include the 3 pass attempts with Sherriffs) against UNC?

In ACC play, here is our Pass to Run play calling:

Duke: 26:35
FSU: 44:29
GT: 38:36
Cuse: 43:32
UNC: 41:32

In only one game, we scored 30+ points.

I have two other questions for you, since you "seem" to be against blaming the play calling:

1. Why did UGA's offense perform better after Richt stopped calling plays?

2. If you're so sure that it isn't Richt, why comment on other posters blaming the play calling? I don't argue with people who think the earth is flat.

Where did I say say anything about reads? I said the QBs have can't choose which side to start their progression.
