Up until last night I thought we really had no identity this season. We were kind of fragmented. Not really a dominant pass team and not really a dominant run team. Decent at both but not great at either. We need to be a running team first and foremost...Duke,Yearby and the Buss...come on man! With our obvious playmakers at WR & TE, it sets up the big play lovely.

Kudos to Coley for finally figuring this out. If i could summarize last night with one word it would be "Adjustment". Coley finally realized that we could come out and pound the rock and if we stayed with it, we can be dominant. Our defense figured out that if we stack the box and attack we will get TFLs and turnovers.

The GA Tech game ****ed me off because we were averaging a stupid yds per carry every time we ran the ball. Then we would get an incompletion and put ourself behind the chains. If we played this game plan against GT we would have won.

We should roll NC if we pound the rock!

was it coley that figured it out or the coaching staff and golden? the adjustment really started at Cincinnati.

Take that run first game plan into the FSU game and watch the scoreboard as FSU scores time and time again while UM sufferes another blow out.

You saw what happened against a good defense when we faced Louisville.

We turned the corner. Converting the money downs. Running the ball and stopping the run. Kids are tackling better, staying on their assignments. Kaayas not a freshman qb, he's the university if miami qb.

#Ignore the noise.

Good point. It does seem like the team is just closing its eyes and hoping it gets lucky. That's why no game seems safe and every game lose-able. Every game seems different and they are still trying to figure out what works. Even if something does work, they keep trying something else.

This. VT's rushing defense is absolute garbage. Kudos to the staff for recognizing the obvious and scheming accordingly but if we try to replicate this gameplan against better defenses we will get stuffed.

That very well may happen (us getting blown out by FSU)...but that doesn't change the fact that the fact we need to be a run first team.

Nah man, the offense at louisville was running on bicycle tires instead of the drag radials it needs. I think it will be worse against FSU if we can't pound the rock. I don't see FSU losing to a one dimensional offense.

Umm nooo... we wont be able to out muscle FSU..we have to keep them off balance but we do have to establissh run so we can play action..run first team if they playing 8 in the box? we should take what they give us. we were able to run against 8 man front at V tech we wont be able to do that at FSU

Yeah thats why Duke had like 95 yards rushing against a much better FSU team last year when he went down early in the second half.

This FSU d is no where near as good as it was last year. ND was dominating them at the LOS. You want to keep Crab Legs off the field and you do that with time consuming run oriented drives. Let them stack the box to stop it and BK will audible to a pass play.

Just so i am clear your saying we should be a pass oriented team?

We can be Arkansas with a qb that is ten times better...the only way we beat. NC and FSU is by Duke going for 200 IMO and that would put Duke squarely in the heisman trophy race

Do you not remember us trying to run against Louisville? we are not that good of a running team

You do realize that was the first game of the year and against one of the TOP defenses in the country right?

Our line has gotten better since louisville, isidora is coming into his own been impressed with him, imo a lot of the run olays that didnt work out were because of the inexperience gadbois and isidora and KC, that being said if we can bet past FSUs front four i like our chances in the running game, im not too impressed with their LB play

FSU defense ain't **** right now everybody they played this year move the ball on them. This team will be fired up to play FSU and this will be a good game mark it down!!!

We should be able to run on the noles. When they stack the box we audible. Coley will have to be creative because the noles will be bringing pressure all game like they did against dame.

I think it has more to do with Va Tech not being able to stop our run and our staff sticking with what's working.

Yep, and the way kaaya is getting us in and out of plays for the better is huge
