Our D-Line vs Oregon's D-Line

Oregon was supposed to be the best D-line in the country, but I think David Pollack had a good take on them today.

"They're really good. And they're big and they're strong. But you know what? They're not twitchy. They're not twitchy enough on the edges to get to the quarterback consistently. They're big they're strong. They'll close the pocket. They'll bull rush you. But you kind of step out of the way..."

I think we have a good mix of speed on the edges and run-stopping meat in the middle. It's hard to replace Bain and Mesi, but I feel better after seeing how that 10-million-dollar D-line performed today against Okie St.
 
They also let a bunch of their backups walk after last season, and they’re all starting at other programs now. That seemed to get lost in the media narrative on them in the preseason this year.

Now they’re going to have to overplay these guys (who are underperforming) the rest of the way.

What Blount and Lightfoot have shown this season blows anything Oregon has shown out of the water

Also, after watching the rest of the country this weekend...yeah I'm good with looking outwards and being confident about it. We have a legit natty contender that should be considered for the #1 spot. I'm going to enjoy these games
 
Oregon DL is obviously better than avg, but they were not as good as ours this season nor last season.

They pretty much brought the same starting group from last season. Meaning the same problems they faced last season, which was getting pushed around by any team with a little physicality, they will face this season.

Fan Lanning has only been on the spotlight thanks to Mario that left him a Full team and he has done absolutely NADA! total bust

On the edge? Probably but we haven’t played anyone yet

And we already know we are natty contenders and we should be confident but our dline still is tbd

Dominating means no matter what teams do you dominate. We saw what dominance looks like so im not lowering the standard

And of course its only two games i think they will pick it up as the season goes on but thats just what i think because i like our talent, they still have to go do it consistently so its tbd

Yup! Mario set him up perfectly! Could’ve brought the whole team with him to Miami for real.. but left him nearly everyone and advised guys not to transfer out

We got massively spoiled with those two. They took over games. Mistakes on the backend couldn’t be exposed because those guys didn’t let the qb have time to find them. It was pure luxury.

Oregon is good but if their depth is as bad as people are eluding to, they may have some trouble navigating a strong schedule. We should have some blowouts and our guys will be fresh hopefully.

On another note Oregon’s OL looked bad bad. They’re starting a pair of true freshmen I think also.
