Georgia, Michigan, TCU and Ohio State were the top four in the final Associated Press college football poll of the regular season.

3 SEC teams in the top four.


We UVA gets the bump. They could stroll into Miami undefeated. Could be a nice statement game. But if they get past both ND and Miami UVA might ****around and go undefeated with a garbage team. (It’s early) Gotta beat Miami and ND though before that talk starts getting real.

UNC receiving votes. (You guys give them crap for the 2-9 season, they beat two power 5 teams and the QB seems decent.) Clearly not the same ball club under Mack Brown.

Since they are already receiving votes and some teams in front of them will likely lose they’ll go into the Clemson game “ranked” and get their *** beat.

UVA-UNC setting up to be the battle for the coastal so far. (It’s early and ACC play is just beginning. We know the roller coaster that the coastal is already coastal leader could change 5 times before December)

Preseason rankings are an absolute plague to CFB. On what basis is Michigan still ranked in the top 10? Because people think they should be good? They just got taken to double OT by a service academy at home. Washington remains ranked after getting beat at home by an unranked and bad Cal team, based on what? Their resounding win over Eastern Washington to start the season? And yet UNC is unranked after starting 2-0 with wins over SCAR and Miami?

Let's stop the farce and just call CFB rankings what they are: a popularity contest based on preconceived notions, not at all a reflection of performance on the field.

Definitely agree with not having rankings until week 4 or 5. But behind closed doors I think those guys still need a basis to go off of and will have a in-house preseason rank that they don’t make public.

And I agree that Cal loss is bad. I personally would’ve put UNC in the top 25 somewhere like 25 or 24 after beating USC and Miami.

Definitely agree with not having rankings until week 4 or 5. But behind closed doors I think those guys still need a basis to go off of and will have a in-house preseason rank that they don’t make public.

If a team with preseason hype like Michigan was 2-0 with wins over SCAR and Miami they would be ranked #1 in the country right now. Fact. Yet because its UNC and nobody thought theyd be good this year, they are unranked? So then what exactly are the polls supposed to reflect? The answer is they reflect the teams people think are good, regardless of what they've actually done on the field. This is the same reason why the media blows the SEC every year all year. They decide preseason that every SEC team except the very few true bottomfeeders are good, so then anytime you beat one it it's an amazing win that soars you up the polls, yet anytime you lose to one you barely go down because it's chalked up as a "good loss". Its like incest, its bull****, yet it happens every single year.

I think people are having a hard time believing that maybe Mack just needed some time off and now he’s ready to kick it back in gear and get it going. The guy went to two championship games and won one. I know he had Vince young but still. Jumbo had crab legs and we give him credit. Mack can coach and hired two good coordinators. He is deep in the coaching fraternity. Something manny is not at the level of yet cause he’s young. He doesn’t throw around weight like Mack.

Now saying this we still should have won so ***** unc. But they are a good team
