OT: We need o-linemen like this

That's an outlier example. Fun to watch. But we should strive to have a line like Ohio State. Not Wisconsin. That isn't logical. But the Ohio State method seemingly is within reach. They have a flurry of athletic versatile guys every year. Not every season is dominant, like last year when they pass blocked fine for Haskins but as a group were a major disappointment as run blockers. They lost 4 starters from that line but have retooled quickly and now it is being viewed as one of the strengths of the team.

Nobody looks like Navaughn Donaldson out there. They aren't relying on 2-star weight gain desparation like Zion. They have plug and play smart tough articulate highly rated recruits like Josh Myers and Wyatt Davis. Watch them play and listen to their interviews and it's night and day from anything the Canes are doing.

This is cool and I dont know anything about o line play but should he just stand there barking at the guy for 2 whole seconds mid play?
Well, if he was talking about his mama....but he probably should have pinned him, fall on him so he can't get back up.

Well no ****, those guys were top top recruits, Wyatt Davis and Josh Myers were the #24 and #53 players in the country. Those are absolute elite prospects. We can't compare ourselves to OSU that recruits at an Alabama level.

However, our OL is still underperforming its talent level.

LSU, OSU, etc recruit grown men at OL and DL. Most of those dudes are already in the 280-300 range. We are relying on kids who are 230-260. Night and day.

Our OL are some of the softest players you will ever see in CFB. Jakai Clark refusing to bulldoze a tiny CMU backer and eat him for lunch to let Cam get the first down and instead stopping dead in his tracks to wait for the backer to initiate contact is everything you need to know about our team.

The play ended with a tackle behind the LOS on third down when the only possible player that could’ve gotten to Cam was Clark’s assignment.

SOFT A F

Make aggressive recruits with good feet who aren’t fat and sloppy redshirt. Then make them compete for backup spots in their second year. By year three let them compete to start. That’s how you develop offensive linemen. It’s about practice, strength training, and development.

Miami’s offensive line is too young and inexperienced across the board.

I would put a redshirt senior who was a 3* recruit at a power 5 program over a 4 star true freshman or even 4* redshirt freshman any day.

We ain’t getting 5* offensive linemen, move on.

I rather see that than our lineman who wiff and just look around mid play like what happened

honestly if our oline played like that
we would get a unnecessary roughness penalty

One thing that I've noticed with all the best offensive lines in college football, extra beef. We need to stop recruiting these 6'2 - 6'3 guards and centers that won't end up playing in the league and get some big monster trench bullies. Look at Georgia's line they average like 6'6 330 lbs and they have one of the best lines in college football. I like how Barry is starting to recruit these prototypical NFL size OTs but imagine if we had 2 more lineman like Donaldson guarding the inside. Lastly, we need to recruit SMART offensive lineman. All successful lines have players who know how to communicate and ALWAYS KNOW THEIR ASSIGNMENTS.

Was gonna call out the dumb getting away from the play moment to talk chit...but dude knocks him on his *** AGAIN the moment he gets up 😂😂😂😂
