In the medical field. Alzheimers is a terrible terrible disease. Most times you feel worse for the family than for the patient themselves. Breaks your heart when patient has a moment of clarity, giving the family some semblance of who they were, only to regress a few minutes later. Heartbreaking story

That’s a tough read. Seen it first hand. Debilitating, terrible disease. I feel for the man. Helpless situation.

If you read the rest of the article, the dude was just about done, too. Had tumors and was on death's door himself.

Can't even judge this situation.

If any of y'all have seen the movie Midsommar over the summer...its a fictional film, but it took ideas of Scandinavian cultures and cults and had a scene where there was a ceremony in the community where the 75 year olds would kill themselves. Just a part of life to not be a burden on the family, community, etc. I don't fully understand it, and I can't imagine understanding it this guy's decision...but not going to shame it either.
