OT: College Football Programs Inflate their Numbers

Someone had posted a link to the WSJ article the other day but you needed a subscription to read the actual article. It's really no surprise. As someone who sat through many a sparsely attended UM home game during the Golden/ Shannon years, I learned right away that announced attendance had nothing to do with the actual number of people there. I remember sitting in a 3/4 empty SunLife Stadium watching an Al Golden Miami team beat Cincinnati and seeing an announced attendance of 46,000 or something of that nature. There couldn't have been more than 30,000 people there but I'm sure there was probably 15,000 tickets sold to people who never bothered to show up.
