Mullen was a nostalgia hire for UF, because he was Urby’s OC during their last National titles run...

They thought he could recreate the Urban Meyer era & it fell straight on its face & now they want him gone.

He only won 10 games once in 9 seasons at Miss St & he only had successful seasons at UF with mostly Jimmy McSharktooth recruits. Now that they’re in year 4 with primarily Mullen recruited roster they’re a complete shell of themselves & they have no firepower at all, plus their Defense is atrocious.
 
It's funny how they go off on Mullen, but over here we think he'd be a savior.

All the names Ive seen mentioned from Mullen, to Cristobal, Kiffen, Coach O etc etc

There is a forum somewhere out there and these guys are getting ripped an absolute new one.. probably enough to make you forget about wanting any of them.

We can all complain about Manny, but the reality is that you really don't know what you have or don't have until it's gone, and we can keep the revolving door rolling with the coaches if we want, but I don't think it's the answer in the end.

Don't get me wrong and think this is defending Manny, but maybe a little devil's advocate, if you will.

We definitely have bigger problems than Manny
 
UF and FSU are down; this is our chance. With so many teams looking for a new head coach and all Florida teams sucking, we may be able to salvage this recruiting class with a great hire.
The new head coach will have the talent, weak conference, and a seemingly really good QB as a recruiting pitch to the recruits. I hope TVD can keep this up.
Feels good to see the gayturds and the team up north struggle.

And firing Diaz as his team is on the up swing would leave us right where they are.

he was their third choice for a reason and he wasn't cheap either.

we could hire a Manny and fail and remove him and try again. big boy programs miss on guys all the time. the diff is they'll pay up to fix their mistake while we will ride it out till it becomes toxic and still go cheap
 
Mullen is a really good offensive coach and good head coach but he’s a weird cat that’s not very likable. Recruiting will always be a problem. He’s just not gonna win you titles , he’ll hover in the 8-11 games range but will never do more. He’s actually the perfect coach tor Florida if you’re a Miami fan.

We were THIS close to pulling the trigger on Mullen had Richt not fallen into Blake's lap.
 
Yeah whats crazy is that there remaining schedule is as lightweight as ours. I can see both us and them ending up 8-4. So both coaches might just get bailed out this year strictly based off easy last 4 games.

We're no better than UF, and no worst. Well, I think we have better talent. Mullen like you said is a good coach, he'll get the talent out of his players and use it properly. Problem is, he can't stockpile talent which is required at this level. Mullen had his success with someone else's guys, and now that they're gone, he's left with lesser talent and not getting good results.

Another example of how trying to recreate the past fails far more often than it succeeds.
