Yet our coach/oc wants to be the smartest guy in the room instead of the most successful!!! I hope the whole thing continues to crumble on him. Stupid
What in the world do all these consultants do? How much work is there for them? It seems that the normal size staff, while stretched and overworked, can take care of most of the work. I think graduate assistants often do the analytical work like breaking down film and drafting scouting reports and game plans. I heard from a friend who had the run of Hecht how Tommy Tuberville, who was a grad assistant during the JJ and Erickson era, used to sit at the computer and develop game plans. This was an era when PCs were rather limited so I don't know what form the work product took or what kind of software was used.I applaud Saban for being smart enough to hire good football people who don’t really need the paycheck. So they have all these recognizable football guys as analysts for absolute peanuts. We should look into guys who are getting buyouts and need to rehabilitate their image before they can re-enter the mainstream market. Saban and Bama have this down to a fine art.
...When you count these "advisors" Alabama has a reported staff of 60. Think about that for a minute.
