Dolphins fan or not... I'm curious on how you guys feel about Adam Gase publicly blaming his players for lack of effort (in learning the playbook and the system). Says the best players need to set a better example as well.

In addition... if Mark Richt did something like this, how different would it be considering its college vs pro's? Should it not have been public?

Miami Herald report on it: Miami Dolphins coach Gase disgusted, calls out best players for not studying enough | Miami Herald

In the pros, it can be warranted because they are professionals.

In college, I tend to not like it, but I understand it can be warranted. For example, mental mistakes that become stupid penalties, easy dropped passes, etc.

I've always believed in the 'praise in public, criticize in private' in being a leader. Team business is personal and private.

Coaches that continously blame their players are typically not the best coaches.

Mark Richt is a good enough coach that these little outbursts aren't necessary. The whiz kid, Adam Gase and his magical QB Jay Cutler will be gone by next season. 40 point losses in the NFL is on coaches or Cleveland and he ain't in Cleveland.

The two coaches that stand out in my mind that continously blame their players were Al Golden and MacElwain.

Proof is in the pudding.

Slippery slope for him. If he loses the locker room, he will also lose his job. But I agree that the players especially the Oine suck right now. The WRs can’t get separation and neither QB has played good. If he is the guru he is supposed to be it’s on him to find some things this unit is capable of doing.

This guy was a joke of hire. Fins lucked out making the playoffs winning a crazy amount of close games last year but he is being exposed so far this year. That offense is beyond bad and it falls on him.

The Dolphins problem has been the same problem since Marino left; the QB position.

And I'm sorry, but I'm not convinced Tannenhill is the guy.

Whether in pros or not publicly calling out your guys is never good if you want to build their trust in you. He's close to losing his team, if he hasn't lost them already.

Or that’s how good Tannehill is

Do you watch the games? We’re Dr. Jeckel/Mr. Hyde. He has every right to call out the players because there’s no reason we should move the ball vs the Falcons and Jets to win games...and come back by 14+ in both games and then lose by 40 to Baltimore. No man in their right mind can tell me that those Ravens are better than the Jets and the Falcons.

With that in mind, this OC is absolute basura and needs to go ASAP! He should’ve been called out as well

Gase calls the plays. He has an OC only in name.

I know, I thought people would’ve gotten my sarcasm. He sucks as a playcaller and needs to give it to Clyde Christiansen

Dolphins suck at just about everything they do.
Very few teams mismanage the draft like the dolphins do. They get so little out of it.

I believe it was after the Tennessee game last year where he cut a couple of players and benched others. The team went on to finish the regular season 9-2 after starting the season 1-4. I'm guessing this is a similar "come to Jesus" moment. The OL is horrible again though (it doesn't help their position coach was snorting coke and falling in love with a Vegas "model") lol.

We'll see what happens, but you lose your starting QB for the season and most often, the playoffs are not in the cards.

The OL play has been garbage. Their not opening holes for ajayi and their not pass blocking for Cutler or Moore.
