OT: 30+ Charleston Southern players suspended

The NCAA runs their racketerring business better than the Geneovese's do with construction.

How dare you! The National Collegiate Athletic Association slaves day and night to make sure these heathens are not over compensated. First we have a young man by the name of Muhammed joy riding the streets, and then we've got these thieves buying unauthorized contraband from the school "bookstore"?!

What's next?!?! Rich white men buying cars and clothes for their favorite athletes? Successful alumni paying for non-degree-plan classes, food and alcohol?!

Sick *****. Take your "market value" principle elsewhere, we are above the fray of common folk.

There's gotta be more to that story.

I agree. Although the story is very believable given the NCAA.

It would be amazing if Charleston Southern would somehow pull the most miraculous upset off FSU. That's a loss they wouldn't recover from. Hopes and dreams are a wonderful thing.

That would be the most unlikely and shocking upset in the history of this planet given how CS will be down 30 players.

Now as far as the suspensions are concerned what we are seeing here is a perfect example of how beuarocracy ultimately works to destroy values in the name of protecting them.

I would like to know what he meant by "electronics".

"Yeah, man, all we did was buy some pencils, binders, and... Cough! Cough! ...a couple of Kindles, an iPod, and some wireless Beats." :shame:

the spread would be 90 if vegas knew FSU would play their starters for 60 minutes

One of the suspended posted it on Facebook, it must be accurate. Time to tar and feather the NCAA.

Can you even fathom the injustice of student-aged youths spending their left over book stipend on kindles, iPods and headphones?! It makes me GAG good sir. These "people" aren't "people" in the traditional sense, they are mere robot-people. They shall play sporty-games for my entertainment and other wise sleep, eat or study. College is no place where young men and women galavant around town absorbing the lessons of life.

I imagine it wasn't "pencils and binders" as much as lots of free "electronics. If the dollar amount is high enough, it's easy to argue that this becomes a recruiting point.

It's stupid, but the point is that if its not regulated, teams will just use the bookstore as a way to get **** for their players. Bookstore now sells TVs. Your dad needs a job? He can work at the bookstore for $75,000 a year. Cadillacs? They're in the "football player only" isle, and on sale for $49.99 this week.

Just thinking about human being cashing in their talents for personal gains gives me diaharrea. This isn't a business.

In reality, half those 30 didn't buy books and just bought whatever electronics the book store has to offer. Thats why only 3 people spoke out about it, because all the rest have dope Dre beats now and they knew they'll never beat FSU anyways so they don't care.

Weird, it hasn't even made the news here yet. I could walk through the woods to that school and my son goes to baseball camp there. I think I'd skip the beatdown also.
