Question to this hypothetical if anyone knows.
Let me start by saying I hope we win every game and make the playoff. But, if we don’t....

Let’s say Clemson goes undefeated and beats ND in ACCCG.Clemson in playoff. Is it possible that Notre Dame could play an ACC team in the Orange Bowl. Basically, I’m asking if we could meet ND in the Orange Bowl if certain events took place?

Anything's possible this year. I want to see what happens if UM & ND both have 1 loss to Clemson and tie for 2nd place.

Word needs to get to Tobacco Road refs, Notre Dame cant make it into the ACC CG.

I need to know the tiebreakers. Best two records mean little if there is a 4 way tie.

Agree but that will be more so the case at 9-2.
If Clemson goes undefeated and we're at 10-1 with the Irish, UNC, VT, Pitt, FSU, and UL will all have at least 2 losses.

EDIT:
I stand corrected.
NC St is another team that can "theoretically" go 10-1.

Since we are dreaming hypotheticals, how about we beat Clemson and meet Syracuse in the ACCCG. I'm tired of Clemson and ND.

We gotta lose a game first!

Very prophetic post!

One doesn't need to be Nostradamus to prophesize that Clemson will run the table the rest of this season. They'll beat Notre Dame in the ACC Title Game and get invited to the playoff.

As long as Miami continues to win, I see no reason why the Orange Bowl wouldn't reward its ACC partner by inviting Miami along with Notre Dame. The Catholics vs. the Convicts - again! It would be a good game and would get great ratings.

Not happening. ND is an ACC team for the 2020 season, and will take an ACC bowl bid, not an independent bid.

How do you know that? If Miami is 11-1, how do you know that the Orange Bowl won't extend some love to the ACC by inviting Miami? Is there some sort of bylaw that prevents it? Aside from the playoffs, that could be the best matchup of the bowl season.

The tie-ins are already set. It will be ACC (or ND) vs. Big 10/SEC. Miami cannot play Notre Dame in the Orange Bowl.
