Opposing DC Gameplans

The name of the game is coaches adjust and Louisville out schemed our coaching staff. Now will Mario and staff make the necessary changes? They didn't last year losing after getting exposed and every opponent will see how to beat us unless we adjust. Forget ACC championship, this loss with the potential for other ACC teams to go undefeated in conference makes our path too difficult.

FSU had the blueprint for beating us on offense and defense.
On defense, stack the box and stop the run. Force Beck to beat you. FSU's problem was they didn't have the players to make it happen.
On offense, play with tempo to gas our D. Sprinkle in motion and lots of quick releases to negate our pass rush.

It's 100% the way to play against our offense. I'm like a broken record on this, but with our limitations at WR our base set should be 21 with Lofton/Bauman split out wide. Run to the right side B & C gaps and pull Bell/RG a bunch and run wide. Occasionally run left. Our 3rd (& probably our 4th) leading receiver should be a TE/RB, not Marion. Our IOL can't run block for **** this year. It's crazy to keep trying to run duo against good defenses - and I love duo and what we did inside last year in the run game.

Disappointed after a second bye week in 2 weeks we didn't feature 21 more and kept trying to run inside when it was clear we weren't able to block UL inside at the first level, nevermind get OL to the second level

Craziest thing is our OLine is basically the same from last year minus the center and we suck that much more running Duo this year vs last year?

They can. Will they is a different story. Stanford is terrible. Smu isn’t good on defense. Syracuse doesn’t have a qb. Ncst meh. Vt trash. Pitt could be interesting in the cold
You say that and then Luuulville will finish the season 8-4/9-3. This team has been waaaaaay too one dimensional and the blueprint has been there. Brohm had two weeks to exploit it

It's not though. Our run game last year really didn't get cooking till Rivers came back against UL. We had Rivers at LG for an average of 30 snaps a game the rest of the year and we were dominate in the run game. And when he was at LT we could run behind him too. Bell is great in pass pro, but we don't run behind him much. Carpenter was much better run blocking than Brockermeyer too. McCoy hasn't made a leap, and I think he's actually playing worse than last year. I think we overrated Samson early in the year, and he has struggled the last few games. Our TEs are much, much worse run blocking than last year too.

I'm pretty disappointed that we tried to run the way we did against UL tonight. We knew their defense was really good, and it was obvious they would try to take away our inside runs. First half I excused it. We had no offensive rhythm, because of the penalties and turnovers. I just can't believe we never tried to get Fletcher/Lyle (especially Lyle) outside. I'll have to rewatch but I think the hand-off to Toney was the only run we had outside the entire game. Really disappointing after we showed some creativity in the run game against FSU, after they mucked up our inside runs.

I'm not opposed to running Duo but perhaps it shouldn't be the only thing we run.
