@slmandel: Reading this now, hard to believe Ole Miss tried to spin this as being mostly pre-Freeze. The first 9 violations were under his watch

All of a sudden ole miss is a recruiting powerhouse...who could have imagined there was anything shady going on.

I believe Jonathan Vilma was closer to owning a bbq restaurant than being a college player when our sanctions came down.

Also upsetting to read all those violations committed by the football program and Dis Miss with arm's up decides to come down hard...on women's basketball.

I'd hammer them even harder for scapegoating women's basketball and for this fake mea culpa.

Did they mention paying Tunsil's family the whole time he was there, or are they going to act like that whole thing never happened?

Great point. Always announce **** like this on a Friday or before a holiday so by Tuesday everyone has forgot. Baylor being big news right now is just the icing on the cake.
 
Who the heck was Huge Freeze prior to going to Ole Miss? Amazing the the NCAA didn't see this. Look David Cutcliffe and Tommy Tuberville went to Oxford with incredible resumes yet they could not do what Freeze has done. Freeze went 7-6 at Arkansas State. but he can get pipeline kids like Tunsil to turn on FSU or UF a few days before signing in a year they were both in need of OL. Those tweets did not surprise me!!! Let's see what the SEC/ESPN led NCAA do about this stuff now.
 
Same things are happening all over SEC country. Do you all think these players Alabama are getting WANT to go to Tuscaloosa? They are paying players like crazy. Don't give me "they are winning" BS. They are winning because they have a team that is PAID. Last I checked if players are paid, that's professional. If some schools are allowed to pay, and some aren't, that's an uneven playing field. That is why Alabama and all those other SEC schools get so many of the top recruits. Best money can buy. Heck, they even pay scrubs like Dee Liner... Well, he wasn't a scrub during recruiting season.

Nov way those self imposed sanctions will be accepted. They are going to get slammed. To public. Mockery at NFL draft.

Everyone and their mom knew Ole **** was up to something when they landed the #! recruiting class 3 years ago. They were just hoping they could sneak a national title in before the hammer dropped. Either that or they were hoping the NCAA would go all "Bama" on them and completely ignore all of the writing on the wall because they are in the SEC. But in any case, I'm glad they will likely burn for this. And I dream of the day someone with some balls replaces Emmert and they nail Bama to the wall.

That'll be the death blow for them. Coaches were involved in that Tunsil payment scheme, and they hid it during this current investigation.

Dennis Dodd has posted the Notice of Allegations from the NCAA & they are extensive; everything from cash, cars, loans, clothes, hotel & meal expenses you name it. Going to be ugly....Freeze is toast. Is the Kiffin asst. coach under Freeze Lane's brother? He's named in the notice also.

I've said this b4, NO ATHLETE IN THEIR RIGHT MIND WOULD EVER GO TO OLE ****! Their mascot is a defeated confederate war general! They just abolished slavery like 3-4 years ago! Their claim to fame is a semi undefeated season back when Pearl Harbor was still afloat! Yet ALL OF A SUDDEN, they landing No. 1 overall prospects from all over the country??! Come on!! Stevie Wonder told me back in 2015 that he could see what was going on...I ain't lyin'.

It's hilarious that the NCAA is so shocked when a good ole boys club school does the unthinkable and cheat to win. Bama got players IGing brand new luxury cars!!! But these r "student" athletes who ALL OF A SUDDEN can afford $45-55k cars??

Get huge contract with huge buyout.

Deny cheating your balls off.

Blame failure to win on cheating allegations.

Get fired and take huge buyout.

Take job on TV.

Rinse.
