OL Talent in SoFL?

@gogeta4 @Coach Macho

I know Top 10 elite OL hooomans/aliens/dinosauropods are very special people, but it doesn't seem like SoFL produces that level of athlete.

Have I eaten to many edibles and I'm not paying attention?
Depends on how many mg per edible.

But don’t forget that Mark Matthews is the top rated Olineman in the 2027 class, from STA.

Mark Matthews will be our starting LT for the 27 season with Cantwell at RT. I think players that are talented just choose to play defense. They probably can play OL but rather play defense and develop that. Idk the reason tbh just a guess

This will probably not be very popular, but let’s be honest very rarely do really talented kids play on the OL. They get relegated there because they’re not quite good enough for the DL obviously some of them grow into the position, but typically especially in South Florida you get a lot of overly fat kids who can’t do much else.

Matthews plays RT in high school. Doesn’t like the left. Also, he’s really light. Needs to gain a bunch of weight.

Well ****...

I got a ******* bull dyke cousin tipping the scales at ~330lbs.

Mean ******. Has a tattoo that says, "Hoes overs Bros" on her forearm.

Has a cupid heart tat of a mohawked Rosie the Riveter on her left bicep that says, "woemyn!".

RUSTED pure iron nose bull ring completes her fit.

I represent her. Who can I speak with at Hecht for a deal?

*heart of gold though

oh...and @PIPO KNOWZ

Donovan Jennings, backup for Packers
Isiah Wynn, not sure he was on a roster this year but dude was a Patriots 1st rounder
Evan Neal, backup for Giants.....5 star that went to Bama and was drafted super high but has been a bust
Jon Feliciano, Played in 100+ games starting 61 in NFL
Justin McCray, spot starter for 7 or so years
Alex Leatherwood, Everything I said about Neal is true for him and both went to Bama
Ereck Flowers, 101 starts
Garris Sanborn, career backup but stuck in NFL for 11 years
Jamaal Jackson, 70+ starts
Chris Myers, 120+ starts
Vernon Carey, 100+ starts

Steve Hutchinson, HOF'er and all time great Guard, is from Broward

It's not South Florida's forte but still better than all but a few other areas.

He's currently listed at 300 lbs

Saw him play last season in one televised game, vs Mater Dei, and he looked plenty big. Pretty sure he was playing LT as well. Sure about the RT thing?

In the last 4 classes, only one 4 star and I’d almost call him a bust. Only Dade/broward/west palm

Lined up at LT in those highlights. He looks fit. Yes he needs to get bigger, I'm sure he has and will, but I'd rather have Tackles that look like that then guys who are 340 in HS but sloppy. He moves incredibly well for a kid with that kind of frame.

Popular? I don't know why it wouldn't be. It's just a fact though. Most HS coaches put their best big bodies on the Dline because that's where they should be playing. True in south Florida and just about everywhere else.

If I had to guess there are quite a few lower ranked DT's from south Florida HS's who could be turned into excellent Guards and in some cases Tackles similar to what Mario and Mariobal did with Anez Cooper. If a kids getting offers from smaller schools, G5's and less prominent P4's, as a mid/low 3 star DT he probably isn't high on a position change and Miami's staff isn't big on gambling that the switch will work when they have other kids who already play Oline willing to come. Maybe it would be an easier sell now that they can point to it working out so well with Cooper who was a 3+ year starter and will be drafted.

In my case, I played LT and DT in high school. Loved DT & hated LT. Unless you just have a thing for OL, defensive line is more fun to play. At least it was for me.
