Mich coach was at FAU right? What is his story, ties to Mich or timing was off for us?

Just timing. Michigan fired Juwan Howard at the same time that May took FAU to their 2nd tournament (one year after the Final 4 tun).
But he is from the Midwest (Indiana), and coached at Eastern Michigan as an assistant.

Yeup. OSU and IU both fumbled opportunities to get him with their timing.

Correlation doesn’t mean causation etc but he was an assistant at UF and when he took the FAU job is when Mike White started to really struggle afterwards.

Wikipedia page says he coached Sean May in AAU growing up

Officiating in that game was horribly one sided. Cadeau alone probably committed 10 fouls, only got called for 3

UConn is an interesting school from an NBA output standpoint under Hurley. Castle is a future all-star, Clingan is going to have a long career — ceiling TBD — and Cam Spencer is a killer.

However……. the sharpshooting wing prep recruited blue chippers are all busts; and I expect Mullins to follow suit of Bouknight, Hawkins, McNeeley.

Don’t think Karavan’s game will translate either but I’m iffy to definitively say that bout one of the winningest college players ever. He will prob find a way to be a role player if he gets to go to a good organization.

Karaban is constantly moving without the ball. Getting himself open. Good enough shooter. I see a role for him as a bench guy in the NBA.

Yeah I agree; that’s what gives me hesitation. Not necessarily a 1:1 comparison to Joe Harris but that’s the role i can see him having. Maybe a bit more like Sam Merrill or AJ Green

Mullins can move well without the ball but he is integrated into the UConn offense in a way that he won’t be in the league.

I think there are also different expectations and patience levels with one & dones compared to everybody else …. Will be interesting to see how high he goes.
